Clutch, Tranny problems...
Okay guys...well i have a 1991Acura integra GS...Whenever i put the car into 1st gear and accelerate and let go of the clutch the car takes a while to start moving...like it stalls for a while...I dont know if its the clutch or transmission or both...what could it be?..can anyone help?

From a stop, put the car in 5th gear. Rev to around 3000 RPMs. Pop the clutch and if the car dies, your clutch should be good. If it revs, your clutch is slipping.

sounds more like clutch to me

thanks guys...well I took it to my mechanic today and I dont exactly know what he did but he fixed the problem...He opened my hood and started pulling on a wire and kept checking the clutch and adjusting the wire...it only took like 5 minutes and i was on my way.;)

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Just needed a simple adjustment. Luckily it wasn't your tranny
|
yea luckily it wasn't because i dont got the money to get another tranny or fix it...my car runs better now than it did when i first got it...lol
|
good to hear you fixed it. anyway your clutch might be going soon, if it needed adjustament without having any work done prior to this
|
yeah i was thinking about just changing it soon...how much does a clutch cost?...or does it depend on who makes them...

I got my ACT for around $325ish I think. Around $300 for the install also. |
it depends on whatt you wanna get. if u wanna get a weak cheap ass oem replacement you are looking at 125-150, plus 350 the install.
|
well I dont know what to get then...cuz all I really want is just to change the clutch as soon as possible before it really starts acting up...so i dont know what i should go with...plus money is kinda tight...
|
just save up some money before getting one. this one might last you years, might fail tomorrow
