Lowering ?

what is the best way to lower my 00' Accord ?

ebpda9 04-22-2005 09:37 AM

doing the springs and shocks at the same time. then getting a front camber kit. let me know if you need any parts. i can hook you up with some decent prices

how low do you want it? and if your not sure of the answer, then maybe coilovers and shocks would be the best way to go.

ive got ground controls with kyb shocks and i love the setup (koni's would been a better choice but mine work). you can pretty much drop your fenders on your wheels if you felt so inclined(very low), so you can find the exact amount you want to lower without overdoing it.

yeah coilovers are a nice way to go if you like to have the choice between setting the car to the ground or just drop it like an inch or so. I have coilovers but I'm going to be buying Tein or Neuspeed springs soon. but Stefan (hondamaniac) can get ya some good deals and he's reliable

00' Accord 04-22-2005 04:05 PM

ummm... i think that i might go with a 2 inch lower but not for sure, i would give u a pic to look at my car but still can figure how to put a pic up... people told me about the browse button option but it wont put it up. ANYWAY i will try to give u a mental pic of it, its pretty much stock 00' accord, midnite blue, with 17 inch 7 spoke rims. thats about it. give some feedback on how much i might lower my car or with some info on how i might get my car pic up. THX

i'd say eibach sport line springs will do the job just fine, plus they use the same rates as the stock springs. shocks are a must for that much lowering

esthirteen 04-22-2005 11:25 PM

i have the sportline springs on my car. i like the way they ride, but the height wasnt enough for me. I mean, its probably the car itself, but it wasnt low enough for me. Id say go with coilovers. or even some add ons like ground control. could try ground controls with kyb agx's. then youd have height adjustable and dampening. does where you live have snow and shit during the winter? if so, then you really should think about something that is adjustable unless you can afford a winter car.

00' Accord 04-23-2005 01:37 AM

i live in eugene oregon and sometimes we do get snow but this winter we didnt, just alot of ice'y roads. with the ground control what exactly does that do? somewhat like coil-overs (in a sence that u can adjust ride height) not super educated with lowering.

esthirteen 04-23-2005 11:52 AM

yea. ground controls along with struts are in a sence a cheap way of coilovers. you could add just gc's and youd stilll have the adjustability, but sooner or later your stock struts will blow and youll need to get new ones anyways. so for now, you might as well get the struts when you get the gc's.

if you have a new car, i would go with lowering springs first so i can wear out my stock shock a bit. H&R sports are pretty good, about 1.75 lower than stock and the spring rate is tighter but not too firm to be uncomfortable.

aight here u peeps go...here is the car in question about the lowering...give me some feedback on how low i should go...i'm thinking of about 1.5 or 2 inch low...PLZ GIVE UR OPINOIN
