Accord springs on a Civic?

I own an 88' Honda Civic LX, great lil everyday beater. Every time the road gets wavy, it scraps. When there's a really big pot hole it sounds like the struts bottom out. I checked the struts by shaking the car up and down. The back side is fine, the front side seems fine as well, no excessive wobble like when your struts are fully worn out. A guy at the auto place adviced me to change the Springs. He said the springs might be worn and that I might be interested in looking for some accord springs in the front to raise the car a bit and eliminate the scraps.

Does anyone see a problem with using accord springs on a Civic?

Let me know a.s.a.p.
Any info wether good or bad will be greatly appreciated!

NO

they arnt made for your car, they would be all off balanced and not the right spring rates. you need civic springs that arnt as short, or you have blown shocks so your riding lower

exactly what chris said...^^ wont work man...how low is ur car? any pics?

Yeah dude.. I doubt that would work very well. Chances are they are probably different shapes and everything (never really paid much attention to accord springs.) I would definately stick to specific springs for a specific car. Your life rides on that suspension, how much do you value your life?

What springs are you running in your car now? What kind of shocks/struts? If you run your hand around the tops of the shock body and the shock rod is there is oily substance that may indicate your shock being blown?

It rides pretty Low, no pics, No oily substance around the top of the shocks and I wasn't the only owner so don't know what shocks / Struts it has.
I didn't think it was a good idea, that's why I needed to ask the experts.
