What do you think of the JDM Integra Type R?

So? Is it worth saving money to build? I'm so in like with this car...

ebpda9 04-01-2006 03:32 PM

i like it, but i like the da9's better

pdiggitydogg 04-01-2006 03:43 PM

Ive only ever seen it in person once, and its very very clean

thermal 04-01-2006 10:48 PM

There are a few JDM conversions local of me. One with an RHD as well. I ilke it a lot. The only thing that bugs me about doing it is the fact that I will have to cut the guts of the bumper just to fit my ideal size intercooler....

pdiggitydogg 04-04-2006 12:07 PM

oh the sacrifices one must make :D

dabouncerx24 04-04-2006 02:16 PM

These conversions are all over the Bay Area...I don't care much for them...

IALuder 04-04-2006 03:54 PM

i like it, prolly cuase i dont see any up here in the midwest.

i dont know if its worth the money or not. i rather be fast then look good now. i realized spending money on looks is a waste.

thermal 04-04-2006 07:02 PM

I hear you. That conversion can cost over $3k with HID. Not to mention that paint job might be required........

revival 04-04-2006 07:37 PM

Ok, well if you haven't realized that I live in Toronto... There aren't many of those here (well none that are very noticeable).

Looks + speed = sexiness

So, looks first then engine work later when I figure out what I can/want to do. And also, if this is going to be an independent(meaning no bf financial support :pfft:) project then I really need to save money. The JDM Integra Type R has always been one of my attainable favourites.

IALuder 04-04-2006 10:42 PM

its all a matter of what you want and can do. only your opinion should matter.

i think it is sexie, but with my driving record (bad) not worth it.

MissJDM 04-07-2006 10:55 PM

So are you looking to fully covert it to JDM ITR by going all out with the front conversion, the RHD and the interior?

revival 04-07-2006 11:15 PM

Hmmm... I'd like to fully convert one, but that would really depend on how deep my pockets are. University next year will completely kill any savings I have (which is at the moment 0). But if I ever gather that kinda cash front end conversion is a must and the interior will probably follow but RHD... no. My left hand is not coordinated enought to use the shifter. :pfft:

MissJDM 04-08-2006 12:15 AM

I can tell you from experience in modding my DB8 that it's expensive. The JDM DB8 interior was a lot more rare at the time than it is now, but it's still really hard to find quality shit. I mean, I went through 3 sets of rear seats until I found the good ones. I went through two sets of JDM door panels. The JDM center console is a bitch because the shift handle area doesn't mold in correctly. The RHD CF vents don't flush the way they should. JDM carpet was easy but you still have to mod the handle holes.

All in all, man, it's so worth it! I didn't get to do the B18C-R but I did do the b20vtec so my guess is your swap will be a lot cheaper and less stress.

I still have my front conversion if you wanna buy. :-)

Oh yeah, and I hope you're a patient girl or guy because you've also gotta find the plastic panels to match.

thermal 04-08-2006 01:15 AM

I need ITR door panels and center console :). Hook your Asian brotha' up Lyna

revival 04-08-2006 12:04 PM

Well MissJDM, I suppose I have some patience. But as for the funding of such a project... Err... donations anyone?? :D

...By the way, I'm a girl. :pfft:

are you purchasing an integra and converting the whole thing to type r or are you purchasing a type r and just changing the front end and seats?

revival 04-12-2006 08:40 PM

Well that depends on how much money I have doesn't it? I really like this car and I was just asking if it's worth saving for.

silver 04-13-2006 09:45 AM

well if you're planning on straight up purchasing one that is jdm, make sure it's a 98+ spec, don't waste the time with the 96spec.

and in short, yes it is worth the time(if you have the money), but get a real one at least and then do a front end conversion, don't get an integra and try and convert it to a type r

Mischief 04-13-2006 11:20 AM

you can buy my inteagra :D ;)

JDM Integra is a good choice. It's still an Acura/Honda car. Acura car models are good in details especially Acura OEM Parts both internal and external. Though Acura are more luxurious and sporty than Honda. But it's the same thing then. Both of them performs well. So i think its a good choice. Aside from it looks good physically but also the engine performs well and its fuel-efficient.

Was the OP able to build a JDM Integra Type R?
