Drive Master Cylinder Brace Its cheaper than the cusco and spoon units but still looks to be good quality. I have seen my mc/bb unit flex under braking, and it moves a lot more than I thought it would...so I thought this might be a nice little final addition to my brake setup (since Ive decided against ss lines). The unit bolts to the shock tower side, which is much thicker than the firewall. Just checking to see if anyone has experience or knows someone w/ one. Lots of reviews on h-t...but I trust the seasoned hst user more than the majority of h-t users. |
hmmm... how's that work? What bolts on the that? As you know, I'm in the process of fixing my BB and MC problem anyway... this might be a good mod...

The one's that mount to the strut tower side generally cause flex during hard cornering... as that whole area move around a little in hard cornering..
Also if you think about the physics of the master/booster all the pressure is inside... you don't lose pressure because the mounted unit wiggles a little... I never really understood how that's supposed to improve braking. |
me neither, but it bight be just the pedal feel, because the stopper will prevent the firewall from flexing under hard braking.
anyway i get a bit offtopic here, but why did u decinde against the ss braided brake lines ? |
it improves pedal feel...not really braking power.
Ibe seen and heard a lot (too many) people getting dirt in between the mesh and then having the teflon line tear because of it. If I could cover the lines w/ a sheeth or something it would be safer. Though I think I have found some that come w/ a plastic coat @ king motorsports. I will call them tomorrow to ask about details |

I dont think that will mount like that in my car. I got too much crap going on under the hood, plus I plan on getting a JG edelbrock IM. I might do it on my civic tho.... Good find man!

all I hear about when people upgrade there brakes they include ss lines, and they have been around for gods knows how long, sorry but I think thats a pretty stupid reson not to get them, thats like 1 in a 1000000, I dont think you should worry about dirt

Im cautious. And if you think about it...a sheath is an excellent idea...in anycase. So if I know I can get it...Im going to just for the added secure feeling I get from em.
I want to buy 1 set of lines....not 2. All it takes is 1 failure for me to question a product. Have you seen a beaks subframe kit fail? I have...thats why I didnt buy one and will go w/ an a-spec racing brace instead. I like feeling confident w/ my parts. |

not, the main sheating is not to the ends that's why they use some extra shields for ends.
