my guess is that the rings are gone. a new set of rings will run you 100-150 plus the main and rod bearings another 300. it can be done.

ebpda9 05-10-2003 10:16 PM

how do u drive and you are only 15 ????

pimpinprelude 05-10-2003 10:20 PM

learners perm.... i get the real thing in oct!!! yay! so about 500... could i do a whole swap for that??????????

ebpda9 05-10-2003 10:21 PM

nope, unless you find an engine in a junkyard

silver 05-10-2003 10:24 PM

are you low on coolant? it could also be a blown head gasket and coolant is leaking into your exhaust.

ebpda9 05-10-2003 10:35 PM

from coolant the smoke should be white not blue. but the head gasket is a possiblity. anyway if he decides to rebuild it he needs to replace the haead gaskets and all other gaskets.

pimpinprelude 05-11-2003 10:24 AM

i am thining a swap.. there are about 10 junk yards in a couple miles from my house... so it wont be hard to find something.. but what do i look for? what model honda do i pull it out of? and what block??? i need to know this so i know what to start looking for.. thanks for help and comments!!!

Well, i am guessing you should take the engine out of the year of your lude or newer.

pimpinprelude 05-13-2003 03:32 PM

Accord Man 05-13-2003 03:36 PM

did you check for what you spark plugs had to say?

pimpinprelude 05-13-2003 04:00 PM

u mean like if there was oil on it??? if soo yea a couple did have some oil on it.. the others were just realllly bad... but i changed them and gapped um, and its still doin it..

Accord Man 05-13-2003 10:11 PM

you can tell a lot from the condition of the plugs..

If you can post a very good pic of each plug, we may be able to help you a little more.

pimpinprelude 05-14-2003 07:28 AM

ok cool i will pull them out later, and snap a few picks...
