Oil pan gasket

I want to change the gasket of my 1990 Accord, is this an easy task? The gasket I bought was not a genuine part, it was not available, it's a rubber gasket. Should I need some sort of silicone or just install the bare gasket? One side has sort of very small ribs and the other is smooth which side faces the engine?
What's your advice? Better take it to the shop? I also need to take the oil pan to a shop and "rebuild" the oil's plug thread. Screws torque?

Thanks

it's easy but messy and requires a lot of dissasembly. a new honda gasket is about $25 at the dealer. i suggest you use hondabond available at the dealership too. that stuff seals like nothing else

What do you mean by a lot of dissambly? What do I need to take apart?

uhh the flex pipe, the lower centerbeam underneath the engine, and if you have an autotranny some shield from the torque converter. as for which way the gasket goes you will see it when you take it apart because the crank is not on the center of the pan. i think it's a bit to the rear of it.
