Prelude JDM

how much horse power does a prelude jdm motor have, someone is selling their prelude and they put in a jdm motor with 30k on it, i was just wondering if its better than the vtec which has 190hp

your help will be greatly appreciated.

it's around 197-200hp.

Its better, but if you already have the 190hp version, its not worth the swap.

197 HP, and the US version is rated at 190, but it really doesn't have that much.

proof? Why do you say that?

he;s right... track tested, either the JDM is under rated or the USDM is overrated. me and this kid i know (jon) have the same mods done, from a roll he destroys me, so you cant blame driver error

Yep, I've seen some 4th Gen VTECs at the track with all the bolt ons, and they STILL weren't running as fast as 1 4th Gen with a JDM and a short ram only. Not to mention I can't keep up with a JDM powered Prelude, but a USDM one is no problem. ;)

I know that (in some cases.... others they underrate for insurance reasons). I was just wondering why the JDM would be much better when the US was almost the same HP.

Thanks for the answers guys. If I ever get the swap (yeah right), I'll go JDM :)
