Wii for 250!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent price for an innovative system (controller wise, you can actually play an FPS effectively on a console now) looks very fun, Nintendo usually has less games but more quality than other systems, priced very competively vs $500/$600 PS3 and $400 XBOX360. I think its going to sell extremely well

Very competitively priced indeed. Games will also be cheaper, and the size is amazing. Good job, Nintendo!

But for that price...I would shell out 30-50 for the core Xbox 360. Halo, Forza, extremely adaptable/customize-able media center and the improved look does it for me :).

The problem will always be, like you said Ben, that Nintendo has shit for game selection. Back when it was THE system to own, they put a lot of effort into selection. These days every other game that comes out is some Mario spin off that no one wants. The price is right and the quality is usually pretty high, but if I can't play any good games what's the point? I'm torn between the PS3 and Xbox360. I think ultimately the PS3 will be the better buy since it'll have the BluRay drive as opposed to Microsoft's 16X DVD drive. Sure, the load times will probably suck, but it's probably going to be a while before MS comes out with a BluRay capable system. I've seen some examples of upcoming PS3 games and they look phenominal...worth the wait, especially if you can wait 6 months until the knock $100 off the price.

Speaking of shitty load times, the 360 load times are horrendous!

GT40FIED 09-15-2006 12:56 AM

Are they? The must be using DVD9 formatting for discs because, with a 16X drive, it should be pretty fast. Eh...the 360 had a hard drive option and if you got that (or installed one later) you shouldn't have any problem with load times.

I'm not TOO sure, Steve. The only interaction I've been having with the 360 is the in-store demos. It might the huge demo discs that is causing these load times...but reviews has been saying that Madden takes forever to load..

Hmmm...but football games suck ass anyway. All they do is update stats and make really small tweaks to the gaming engine and the same people fork over $50 for a new one every year. That's why I'm glad I never got into sports games. There's too fucking many of them. There's more of those than there are FPS WWII games...and that's saying something.

^they do alot more than that... they update the whole franchise sections usually every year or 2, this year they now have lead blocker controls and a much improved run game. the graphics got better, theres tons of little things they improve, the physics, i could go on but i havnt played much of madden07 to do it justice. im a huge fan of them and ive played the last 3 or 4 years religiuoslky and every time the new one comes out im blown away by it. you have to remeber they come out with a new one every YEAR, unlike some games it takes them 3 or 4 years to make sequals. i understand your staying with the same basic game, but when they change the game engine and revamp all the graphics its not an overnight oh lets tweak this and tweak that.

on topic though im looking forward to the Wii. nintendo always has the best system even if the games arnt. the handful of games that will be out exclusivly for nintendo will be with the 250. zelda metriod mario all the sports games will be on it, smash brothers... thats all i ever play anyways no need for those boring race games that never change and whatnot(i know im being hypocritical...)
