How many companies make a type R

how many companies make their vehicles in type R, is it just Honda/Acura cause i saw a 3000GT today with a type R emblem on it

Grip72 02-26-2003 08:40 PM

i think that the owner was being stupid like some car owners and just thought Type R was cool so they badged it that way. The other day i seen a Cavalier Type R....to my knowledge that don't exist my friend....

ebpda9 02-26-2003 09:17 PM

only honda makes type R'z

TeriyakiBroccoli 02-26-2003 09:24 PM

Nizzan. Gt ARGHaohgh.

jc whitney and whole bunch of other companies sell type argh emblems, so anyone and everyone slaps them on whatever has a motor and moves.

only honda/acura make true type R. And as far as I know the only true USDM type R is an acura integra. (not to say all tegs are type R, they are very rare. I actually saw a true on the other day, in real life. probably the only time I'll ever see one!)

i saw a teg type R on autotrader and if i had enough money i would have gotten one.. but sadly i do not i dont even know how much it cost but it woulda been badass to have

and yeah a bunch of companies make the badge so i was just wondering if they badged it or not

This kinda reminds me of the Type Argh Neon that MSVTEC had till it was sent to its final resting place

R.I.P Type Argh Neon

ChrisCantSkate 03-09-2003 02:02 PM

the nissan GTR SER and such is not the same R as honda type-r. honda is the only company to my knowledge with "type-r" vehicals

Shot 2 Hel 03-10-2003 03:29 PM

there is a sentra that goes around here with an OEM R badge and i think it might be firstgeardude that says his vehicle is a Nissan Maxima Type R

Porsche 951S 01-25-2004 05:49 PM

Porsche has used the "R" naming standard for years to represent "Race" cars. They reserve it for models with stripped interiors and that are full of lightweight components. They also tend to give the R's a few more horses.

yeah but the only company that really has a "Type R" is Honda/Acura though.I have looked and I think that is right but could stand to be wrong..have been before..

This thread is funny as fuk! :toofunny:
As far as TypeR goes, It's a Honda thing. But not all Honda cars have a typeR version. The only TypeR model available in U.S that Honda has is the Integra (but not all integras are typeR, including mine although I have a typeR motor). So if you see a civic TypeR (unless it's a right hand drive, which is a possiblilty) or delSol typeR or accord TypeR or Prelude TypeR..... those are only badging that people put.

There are Nissan R like the Skyline GT-R and Sentra Se-R. I think Jaguar has an R-type(vice TypeR) models too.....
