well mine is done... but i want to redo it this time on my own cuz im getting a different system.. thus a diff setup....

how do they mornallly measure the size and shapes then cut out wood to perfectly place them in??? i looked at mine and it doesnt make sense...

not just that but then get the whole thing wrapped with like 1 sheet??? ( k well im exagerating... but u know what i mean... )

any close up pics of trunk enclosures or how to's???

i have 2 12" subs
2 amps
1 cap
and 1 lcd screen for the trunk....

maybe the battery.. not sure yet tho.... thanks guys and gurls...

so you have plans and the MDF or wood? Or are you asking whether a butt joint is better than a mitre joint? As far as internal volume, thats pretty easy to calculate roughly.

Are you going for a *regular* custom encolsure, or you want an all-out show stopper?
So you want to build the enclosure out of what material?
Where do you want it in the trunk / position ?

For the system to sound good, it'll have to be close to perfect.. So are you sure you have the skill to do this..?

azn_nite_ryder 01-14-2002 01:30 AM

well as for the materials.. im using 3/4" & 1/2" MDF and some plexiglass....
i dont care all too much as for maxing out the bass.. just as long as basss does come out... but its more for the show purposes..

and in terms of the joints you mentioned??? do you have a pic of what those look like?? do you neeed special tools to do that?? (like a dremel? or router?)

IF you have the necessary tools for cutting odd shapes (including rounded shapes) you'll be fine.

Ok, so how many cu ft does each sub require? Sealed or ported?

PS, you should try to keep the firing towards the rear.

well if im not mistaken... the 12" are 1.5 cubic foot.... most likely sealed cuz for the shows i doesnt matter if they pound or not.... i would like just decent bass for when i only listen when driving....

h82lose,

Great link man! Got some good Idea's running into my head:yes:

Azn ,,, and others...

Stead of paint you can use felt very easily, go to the fabric shop buy a couple yards, get some liquid nails smear it all around so that it's a very light coat, and smooth out the felt, get the expensive thick felt, it still only cost a couple bucks a yard. I did this for a really crappy box I had, the felt was the only thing that turned out good!!!
