altezza bulb help

I installed g3 altezzas on my 92 civic today..... when i got to the inner housings (on the trunk) i realized the company only sent a harness that powers a single bulb although there are two holes - one for reverse and one for the rim of brake light. to make a long story short, all I have on these trunk units is a reverse light -- no driving light/brake light, which reduces stuff by 50% in terms of people behind me. the stock box housing the bulbs and harness doesnt fit onto this new unit.

My questions is a) is this legal and b) where can I get a harness that will allow for me to put in both bulbs? i called autozone and they said to call the dealership (blah). i have other friends with different types of altezzas and their trunk units are 'on' when the lights are on.

im wondering for my own safety and because i think it looks dumb for the trunk units to only come on in reverse.

please help!

Does the harness not split off to the two bulbs?

The harness that comes out of the trunk from the car is a 4 wire harness, which supports the brake light and the reverse light. The actual stock housing is a large plastic piece with both bulbs in it and doesn't fit into these aftermarket lights.

The joining harness that came with the altezzas is only a 2-wire harness that supports the reverse light. In other words... the 4-wire car connector connects with this new one that only has 2 wires... so basically 2 wires (for the brake) are doing nothing for the 2 trunk pieces of my lights.

So... I want to know where to get a 4-wire harness that supports 2 bulbs.

I went ahead and bought a couple bulb sockets, coresponding bulbs, and wired them directly to the harness. Although the red bulbs dont get a "brighter red" when I brake, they do stay on when I have my lights on. Better than no trunk lights at all.
