si and non si crx

here is a dumb Q What is the diff between a si and a non si i have an 86 civic/crx and i dono whitch it is but i wanted to buy some headers but they say there for si but i dono if that makes a diff or what but any help = hapy greg..lol..thanks.. Greg.:confused:

Different engines, different options, sunroof/ no sunroof.

That was it. Si's have a sunroof. Si's have a 1.6 16 valve. Others don't

I know I have a targa Derek, and I love my car. I just miss the Rex sometimes. I had it for over 5 years. I loved that little thing. Love my new one too though. Especially after it gets painted.

my crx has a sunroof but i dot think it is si but if it is then bad ass cause ill buy headers for it

there has 2 be an si in 86 cause there are si headers for 85 - 87, and no the sunroof is not electric, but it is still bad ass, omg just saw matrix reloaded...JIZZZZZ......lol it was bad asssssss go see it it rules and after the movie watch all the credits there is a suprise at the end.......YAY!!!

by the way, I stand corrected. There is such thing as a pre-88 CRX Si...saw one the other day. Looked pretty cool, first time I had seen an Si in that year.

[nevermind] applied only to 88-91 crx's. sorry.

Is that all true for pre 88s though?

you need to find the engine code stamped on the block. if its an si, the code would be EW4.

yea i found out its not an si but by friend had an freaking si and its not faster if anything mine is faster mine is auto his is manu i dono if they have diff gear ratios but yea its all good im gonna drop a B16A in this summer hopefully and then i can me manu ........YAY!!!...lol....but yea its getto right now the crx itself is nice but the trany is hella bad the person that had it befor my hecka messed it up like hard core......it had fat assssss cracks on it and i jb welded it for temporery use tell i get a new trany and put in a the manual;) ;) ;) ;) yea all in time........i want nowwww!!!!.......just a litle longer..;( but yea bed time, nighty

um..dual port injection instead of multi? I dont think that would affect weight too much though...lighter transmission maybe, smaller engine.

I can't remember what it was, but I swear something the DX is missing makes it hella lighter.

Then again, I could be wrong, it's happened before...once or twice :cool:

if it has a sunroof it is an si. the 1st gen crx si's are fuel injected. the dx's have carbs. all 1st gen crx's are 1.5l. the only real weight difference is due to the sunroof. there is no way that your car is faster unless he has no idea how to drive. honda auto trannies are the worst auto tranny ever made.

You obviously haven't driven an auto VW. Those are horrible. Way worse than any Honda. That passive and active shifting on the VW autos is horrid. :yes:

i drove a 95 passat vr6 auto once. it wasnt too bad. but thats beside the point honda autos suck

Yeah, they do, but VWs suck more. At least pre Make IV they do.

Okay I have and 86 Si, it has the power sunroof or Moonroof, and it does NOT have the 1.6 like them all, it has the 1.5 in it. Is that odd?

all the 1st gen crx's had 1.5l. the only difference in the engines is that they all were carbed except the si, it was mpfi.
