Upper front strut bar
 

Does brand matter with front upper strut bars? It seams to me that they are all the same. What would make one bar more expensive than the next? Is there anthing I should look for in purchasing this piece? Also, is this going to take the roll out, or is there a better economical method to reduce roll?

My brother got a strut bar off of eBay for like $50. It's an aluminum bar w/ a chrome finish. Besides no instruction manual (although installation is 1-2-3), it was a great deal. When you buy a strut bar like Neuspeed or Mugen, you are only paying for the brand name.

i don't think neuspeed is only expensive, but it links to the strut towers and the body of the car. it's like a 4 point

I just got my Tenzo strut bar in the mail today, and it didn't come with instructions. How do I put it on? It appears that I would take off the two nuts that are on either side of the strut, and then put the strut bar on and tighten the nuts over it? Thanks...

yup something like that.

Not exactly... the Neuspeed bar mounts in 4 places and is very solid, adding rigidity. Cheap bars flex and don't provide the same stiffness.

hehe yeah they are cheap got my rear and front bars for 40 bucks and the lower tire for 40 hehe. They seem to help a lot too:)

The front bar looks relativly simple to put in. How about the rear? Are they as simple as bolting in too?

yeah pretty much. You just have to take part of the rear seat off but its a simple process.

take the rear seat off ? what happened to the good ole folding it down ? ;)

i installed my neuspeed today in favor of the cheap ebay ones. you really can feel the difference


EDIT: i felt the difference till i noticed my upper anchor bolt thread was stripped

would it be best to have the car up on jackstands to take the load off the body, then install it w/o load, then lower the car back down?

Oh and to access my rear struts, I had to cut thru some of the liner. The gay Haynes manual sucks ass at explaining ANYTHINg.

For example, it would say in step 16.

remove door assembly.
(see 17)

Step 17:

Remove plastic piece. Then remove hinge assembly (step 18)

Step 18:

See step 16 for removal of blah.

then go to step 17 for blah.

then blah, step 23.

BIGGGGGGg loop holes.

As much as I hate to burst your bubble, you're still driving an Accord. So, you can go ahead and pay the extra $200 for the bar, but it will still handle like an Accordian with a strut bar...
I'll keep my $35 bar..
Now if you are going to lower sway / tie bars, I would recommend getting a name brand, simply because the metal is exposed to the elements and you don't want a cheap metal corroding on you.
