there is prolly a cross in wires to speakers somewhere......check either the speaker channel wires in the back of the HU or the last set of speakers you hooked up....i had the same problem......they wont cut out till they start drawing decent power from the HUs amp.....so just check all of the wires....and makesure that if you dont have terminals on the ends of your speaker connections that hook to the speakers....that the wires arent touching something metal

now keep in mind that i just took my amp out. im hooking it up to my subs. But i will go into the wiring first thing in the morning.

Thanks scorched

What is the Head unit running? i.e. is it powering some speakers or not? If so How many?
Also Is it the amps that are cutting out? What size amps? And what gauge wire have you ran to them? Where is your ground connection for the amp9s)?

I have a jvc 180 watt as if that really means anything hooked up to 2 300 watt speakers and 2 400 watt speakers. But I just bought a new sony x-plod unit. They are sweet and a xplod amp.
running 4 gauge right now thinking about moving to 1 gauge. Think I'm going to need a seperate battery to run all this.

Thanks for the website it helped alot lil93

If your running over 800 Watts RMS, then You most likely don't need to go to 1 Ga. wire. If your running more than 20 Feet of power wire. I would suggest 2 Ga. if your running 800+ watts other than that you should be fine with 4 Ga.

Exactly..

2500w rms on 4awg might work for mids/highs.. But wont work well for bass.

As you all know, its about amperage and the length of the wire.

I highly doubt that.

for an amp i have a mmats d300hc which has the db drag modification done to it (takes the protection off. the rep told me it's running about 2500 watts rms.

i have a mmats sq 4070 for my speakers witch is 70 watts x 4
also i have 2 rockford fosgate power caps with digital display.

This is powering 2 jl 10w7's The amp is handleing about 1.5 ohms. i'm positive it's over 2000 watts and i'm using 4 awg

i tried the Bd 1000 and the Bd1500 and they didn't even come close. I also synced 2 Bd 1000's together and they did not compare to what i have.

I'm just going by what my rep told me and how it compared to the Rockford amps
