Pagers

Hey there, just a quick question. What kinda alarm system(s) will have a pager and remote starter. I don't know much about them so I need some information. I'm not hella rich but my car was broken into on my drive way a year ago and my friends just got broken into on his driveway. I'm so sick of it and if someone is breaking into my car i wanna know (so they can meet my friend Louis Ville Slugger). And since in the winter time it's friggen cold here....what would you recommend for a remote starter with that. I want one system that has all in one.
Thank you very much.

Didnt you ask this last week?

anyways ypu could refer to that post..

The most popular one is one of the COMPUSTAR models.

compustar has pagers with their remote start alarms. Also, crimestopper alarms you can add a pager to. If it ends up bein too expensive for ya to add a pager maybe consider adding an extra siren, so it would be louder, then you would at least be more likely to hear the alarm...hrm...i dunno. Im feelin ya with the remote start tho in the cold mornings. Chances are, nomatter what alarm you get, youre lookin at around $300 for a basic alarm w/remote start, plus an extra $100 for a pager (of course that depends on the area, brand, etc...)
NOW you can get a keyless entry with remote start (with no alarm) for about $200, but im pretty sure you wouldnt be interested in that.
Exactly how much do you wanna spend, then ill give you some more specific suggestions?

I'd say get Aladdin or Compustar. Compustar's new alarm has a 1.5 MILE distance.

I know many peeps with compustar, and no problems yet..

;)

a friend of mine has the alpine alram and pager onhis tight Neon and its does well. I've never heard him say anything bad abotu it but I'll get w/ him to make sure...

I also heard that Crimestopper has one that was prett decnt...I guess it will also depend on what you have to spend...:)

Hmmm not really Kion from Honda-acura.net has had to have one of his remotes fixed cuz it stopped working, but then again i could be wrong and it could jsut be a manufacture problem::yes:: ::no::

ok thats possible.. but thats just one case. doesnt really represent the entire population of people with these starters..

I can tell you their products are of good quality. Maybe your guy dropped it in water, or banged it around.. Or simply that was a defective unit.

KwikR6 12-12-2001 10:03 AM

yeah but every company makes something kinda faulty sometime or another. It happens.

Sorry about the not going back so far thing. I was having a bad day. I realized that since there isn't much action here then ya. Sorry.

Accord Man 12-12-2001 12:36 PM

ok...

So lets put it this way then..

Compustar's QC (quality control) level is high, compared to the average.

BrandonClaps 12-15-2001 10:50 PM

I'll vouge for compustar, i've got the 2500AS, really good alarm/starter, and works with manual tranny with safety features ;]

KwikR6 12-16-2001 08:03 PM

I thought you're not allowed to sell (communication), without it being approved??

KwikR6 12-21-2001 03:11 PM

That's what I was getting at.

BrandonClaps 12-22-2001 06:50 AM

I'm sure they have been approved otherwise they'd be outta business. I think it says like by FCC rule # this device must accept any conflicts or whatever from other traffic, u guys know what i mean heh

KwikR6 12-22-2001 02:49 PM

A guy at a local audio shop told me that they weren't FCC approved. I DUNNO????żżżż
