Off to go install my ground conrtols.

I'm going to go install my ground control's today (well if I can get into the back room at my friends shop to get the spring compressor.)

I'm psyched... Will take pics and probobly do a write up when I'm done...

The instructions for the struts (koni yellows) are confusing as hell... I think I got it but they're DEFINATELY a little vague...

Oh and the freaking morons put the koni sticker on the shock body and with the koni's for gc's they have adjustable mount positions so you slide the spring seat onto the shock body... which in turn tares off the sticker... no bigge but it's lame imo... it also chips the paint... which is also not very good quality.

I can't wait to get them on... not sure what I'm going to do with the spring seat mount position... probobly just leave it at the stock level... I'm not going to drop the car too much at all... I didn't bother getting all the camber adjustment crap yet and it's on winter wheels so I can't go too low without ruining some tires and have some SERIOUS camber issues.

I always wondered whats different with the koni's for GC and those that are regular (mine are regular and have 3 rings for spring level)

I'm pretty sure I got the standard Koni's too...

I think the only difference is there's no adapter spring seat... the sleeve just slides right onto the shock body w/o that shiny metal spring seat deal.

Well.. I let the wife sleep too late and lazed out too much so I didn't even go to do it... Probobly thrus or frinday now... I have them off from work so I'll probobly do it then... THEN MAYBE I'll work up the gumpshin to do the cam/springs/retainers/hg that weekend... but who knows I might just buy the stereo wiring stuff and do that...

I don't know I'm running in 40 different directions with the car all the time...

it's the other way around: gc's are made for konis. basically you get an adapter that won't require you too use the lower spring perches that came with the shocks. and there are 2 different versions of konis too: regulars and neuspeed koni yellows which have a shorter rod, by about 3cm

The only problem I saw with this combo is that the GC sleeve diameter was so close that you almost have to chip the paint off the Koni's to get it to slide on.....

that's why i heated up the sleeve before sliding it on the shock body

oh ho clever
