sounds good man. thanks for the pics.

4drmadness 01-28-2004 06:56 PM

yeah indeed thanks for the pics...  keep it up

thermal 01-28-2004 08:45 PM

Wut ya talkin about mang. That is not a bad set-up bro! No 255 LPH? I definitely dig that 3" DP. . Keep us posted :)

4g63t 01-28-2004 11:22 PM

Stock fuel pressure is like 39psi i think, and the 255 would outrun my regulator. So i would have to get a fr, and gauge. A rewired 190 should be ok i think. We'll see though. Looking at those pics, i don't like what i see. Too much dirtyness. I'm gonna go take some up to date pics and post em.

thermal 01-30-2004 06:47 PM

yeah dude.. let us see pics. i like your list man....

4g63t 02-02-2004 09:47 PM

The manifold and o2 housing have both been sandblasted, ported, and por 20'd.

thermal 02-02-2004 10:00 PM

that is trully an eye candy man... it gave me a twingy feeling. Where did you get that high temp paint from? I like it

4g63t 02-02-2004 11:10 PM

Thanks! I got the por 20 from a swap meet, there was an authorized dealer there. 26 dollars for a pint of it. It goes a long long ways though. Ater doing all those things, it still looks like the can is full. It's good up to 1400 degrees.
I can't wait untill the thing is DONE, we are soo close to being done with the performance mods, then it will be driven to a paint booth to be painted.

Everything is purchased but 100 dollars worth or so of steel pipe bends to make the intercooler piping with.

Once the mani, and o2 housing is done drying, we will install the stud kit in the block, then put the mani, turbo, o2 housing, and downpipe on. Then weld the rest of the exhaust up. Purchase the bends, mount the fmic, custom make the ic piping, paint the pipe a shinny silver, and add fluids. From 14.8 stock, to 12's moddified. The only reason this is taking so long is becuase my dad refuses to put any dirty parts back in the engine bay. Like if he takes a part off to change the gasket or whatever, then the screw has to be wire brushed and painted.

ebpda9 02-03-2004 08:56 AM

the manifold and the o2 housing look pimp painted like that  i wonder how mine would look yellow (+50rwhp on my accord ;) )

4g63t 02-07-2004 10:03 PM

Especially cuase your accord is a mid-engine sedan huh.:stickman:
Word just in, is that i just installed my manifold, turbo, o2 housing, installed my slim line fans, and am currently painting my valve cover. I'll take pictures when i'm all done. It looks sweet as sugar right now though.

4g63t 02-17-2004 09:15 PM

Alright you weasles, time for a bunch of pictures, that will actually work this time

Finished painting valve cover, I'm currently waiting for my socket head stainless steel bolt kit to arrive:

We've finished putting the all the new belts on, and the motor mount:

Got my turbo, j-pipe, fans, and all that good stuff installed. I still need to get stainless steel socket head screws for the fan mounts, and some other bolts that need to be replaced:

And finally, we painted the front parts, and all the bumper cover holders and stuff. Basically all the rust and corrosion will be removed:

My dad wanted to paint an eagle on the manifold heat sheild, but it turned out bad, so we have to redo it:

4g63t 02-17-2004 09:21 PM

OH YA, this is what my engine bay looked like before we got started:

Intercooler has been hung, that's about it though.

thermal 02-22-2004 08:03 PM

Nice Spearco! What size is that?

4g63t 02-22-2004 10:34 PM

The core is 20x8x3......it's not huge, but it fills the bumper gap nicely, and it'll support 425 hp, so it was a good investment.

thermal 02-23-2004 09:01 PM

Hell yeah...no doubt! Spearco makes one of the best, if not the best intercooler design out there. I was lucky enough to get a hold of a 27x10x3 (30x10x3 end tank to end tank) for $300 brand new!

4g63t 02-24-2004 05:07 PM

wow, that's a really good deal. Looking around now, i think i got ripped off on mine, but o well. LIfe goes on.

4g63t 02-29-2004 09:08 PM

Intercooler piping has been all welded together by my uncle........the epoxy decided to break for the intercooler bracket, so we are gonna have to pay to get it tig welded on there. The pipe will be painted like a silver aluminum, to match the other pipes in the engine bay. The pipes have only been ground down now, but here ya go:

thermal 03-01-2004 11:05 PM

Good stuff man! Great air flow transition:yes:

4g63t 03-03-2004 07:26 PM

It could be better though........it's the long routing. I'd like to buy a $900 kit with prefabbed everything with the really short route piping. Then stick this setup in the 91.

Addict 03-04-2004 07:31 AM

Nice pics. Like the progress updates.

You can't really outflow the regulator. The fuel that's not used is basically returned to the system. A 255 wouldn't hurt you at all.
What kind of numbers are you hoping for?

Beg to differ...why don't you go make that argument over at dsmtalk. Everyone knows that the 255 will outflow the stock regulator. I see what your saying though. If it has a limit it's just not gonna let any more fuel in. Maybe your right, and everyone else is wrong, i dont know. I heard that the 255 makes some noises though. Don't you agree with me that a rewired 190 will be fine. I'm hoping for over 300 at the crank. Should easily be done. Thanks

thermal 03-04-2004 08:49 PM

Yeah, those 255 LPH is loud. Sounds like a bad stereo system install...lol. What size piping are those man? I'm on that stage now. It's really kicking my ass since I want a 3 inch DP. I have to fit a 3 inch DP, a 2.5 inch turbo outlet, and an oil drain line all in a space about 8-10 inch wide. You and I both know that it's not that easy even with that gap. None of those components cannot make a contact. I'm really to the point where I want to go ahead send it to a shop to get all the piping done..........

4g63t 03-05-2004 08:11 PM

NEVER, burn the shops....haha. I had to pay to get my intercooler bracket tig welded on though. 15 bux. But ya, the intercooler piping is all painted and grinded smooth. Have fun trying to get ahold of a 3 inch downpipe. I ordered mine on january 26th and it just shipped out today. It's so insane. But ya, all we need to do is finish sanding and primering the car....weld on the exhaust, fill it with fluids, do some tuning and off we go. Estimated time is like 1.5 months!!!

thermal 03-05-2004 09:11 PM

Naw, I will get a shope make me a 3 inch DP. It's only about $150-200 here. Peace out

4g63t 03-06-2004 02:42 AM

Lucky....Granted i only paid 189 for a nice mandrel bent 3 inch one from rnrracing.com.

4g63t 03-07-2004 02:40 AM

started up my car today with an open stock downpipe. It has been 6 months since that thing has run. Gosh dang it was beautiful. The bov blowing off with that new turbo. The open exhaust was throaty and deep.

thermal 03-08-2004 07:16 PM

you sukkkkkk!....lol...... great job man! I'm glad you have it up. My teg is still waiting for more parts. Let me know how well that baby rips the street!!!!!!

4g63t 03-09-2004 08:03 PM

Bah! We've got trouble. The motor has been torn down again to replace the hydrolic tensior for the timing belt. We replaced every other little timing belt part but that one becuase we didnt think that was causing the slapping problem. It is obviously that the belt wont hold tension now though. The motor is down. We just got the part today. And the install has begun. We can't put the car on the street yet because it doesnt have any bumpers, lights, and my dad won't drop it from the jackstands untill we have the full exhaust is installed...which it can be as soon as my downpipe comes in this week sometime!!;)

Don't get me wrong though, we live out of city limits, of course we will drive it up the road with no insurance or bumpers or anything!!

thermal 03-09-2004 08:35 PM

Hell yeah..... I'm driving my car to the dyno shop without bumper and exhaust....lol.

MAXed Out 03-11-2004 08:30 AM

Damn nice progress bro. Hopefully ull get the thing on the road soon. I'm starting to have doubts about the turbo for the maxima cause no body ever turbos them but it's well worth a try.

4g63t 03-11-2004 08:21 PM

Thanx, ya, you definetely need to turbo your maxima. It looks like they have strong motors. There was taht maxima in fast and the furious that looked vicious.

So the downpipe came and dang, 3" with a 4" flex section just looks huge. So we will weld up the entire exhaust system this weekend and finish the timing belt hydrolic tensioner install. We will be able to fire the car up agian.

Then it's the fuel pump install and rewire with this special barcode that turns it on when you run a special magnet across it. I dont want anyone stealing my car:no:. then drill and tap my egt probe and then put the interior back together.
Finish sanding and primering car, put insurance on it, drive it to the paint booth and squirt it.

-go to the dyno and see what it'll do.

4g63t 03-14-2004 11:35 AM

Interior is coming along...I decided i hated the gauges where the vents went because i could see all of the wires behind the metal grate, so i added onto my carbon fiber stereo face. I still have to clean up the area and epoxy the carbon fiber plate to the stereo bezel.

4g63t 03-14-2004 11:38 AM

thermal 03-14-2004 08:56 PM

Nice man!

4g63t 03-16-2004 11:02 PM

It looks sooo much better in person, and at night. The only interior that i have left, is black indiglo gauge faces from speed hut, and a carbon fiber gauge bezel from procarparts.
Oh ya, the timing belt is done, the engine doesnt make any wierd sounds anymore. We've got the egt probe installed. And we welded the downpipe to the muffler and the first section of the exhaust....just a straight pipe now. After 3-7k it sounds very similar to the s2000 in fast and the furious revving up, when he's racing that geek in the jetta.

MAXed Out 03-17-2004 08:59 PM

Nice interior yo. Diggin that carbon fiber in there!
