camber kit question
how low can a 95 Civic be lowered before a camber kit would be needed I asking so I know wether (sp?) to get a camber kit or not before I have the suspention done
rule of the thumb is 1.5" but it depends on how worn or straight your suspension components are
ok thanks I haven't gotten the suspention but I wanted to know for when I get it
I put those Eibach lowering springs and the Koni Yellows on...I can't remember what the drop was/is but I think I need something to maintain control...what does the camber kit do?
when you lower your car your wheels move usually outward (I believe) the camber kit would allow your wheels to be corrected to what the specs are supposed to be (as to place your wheels as if your car were at stock hight) ie if you have ever seen someone driving a baja bug and the tires (usually the back) look like / \ the camber kit would allow the tires to go back to l l if that makes any sence well when you lower your car you tend the have the same basic problem just not as obvious (hope this makes sence I know what Im saying but I dont know that Im wording it right)
Ok...i don't have that problem so I guess I wouldn't need a camber kit then...
depending on how "big" your drop is you might its going to depend on what they say when you go for an alignment
See, my drop wasn't even that big...the most was maybe 2 inches...
what are good brands for camber kits and would you only need it for the front only or would you need it for all 4 wheels (looking on ebay out of curiosity and saw some for what looked like 2 wheels only and some for all 4)
well the best brands will be skunk2, spc, ingalls. any other than that are not that great.
ok thanks now would I need it for front only or all 4 wheels
I would recomend that you get the full set of 4. That way there won't be any wierd wear on the tires.
spc makes a nice kit for the rear too. i would do all 4 wheels but i would let 1.5 degrees of negative camber on the rear. i noticed both of my cars hadndle better that way
ok thanks
ok a few more questions then I think Im done, where can I find spc adjusters other then exospeed.com and maybe ebay. approx what would they cost (didn't see any price on exospeed.com and found only 1 result on ebay and it was $375 which seems a little high to me) and would something like this be worth buying http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33583 and are these only for the rear or are they available for the front too
well those are more for show and they allow a bit of the unsprung weight reduction. the cast iron stock arms are quite heavy. i think they are worth it but i don't know how well they are done, and how close to stock dimensions they are.
thats what I was kinda thinking as far as show/looks I would probably see if I could find something like that for a little cheaper but not too cheap. any ideas for how much/were I could find 4 wheel spc kits at? I figure I'd go one company for the whole thing
i don't carry spc, but i can get the skunk2's for the front. a very nice kit and very easi to adjust, plus look pretty sturdy and i haven't noticed for them to bottom out
how much are u selling the skunk2s front camber?
anyone know any other sites that are selling camber kits for a good low price? |
right now i can do 205 shipped + 8% sales tax
