pdiggitydogg 04-22-2006 07:41 PM

does anyone know anything about the sony w600i?

An integrated mp3 player seems right up my alley (I dont need 5823945293gb of space...)

dabouncerx24 04-22-2006 08:58 PM

My roommates gf has that phone...its average at best.

Actually yes that's true.
When He phones. A pint of guiness shows up. And then it makes me crave beer :) Dave were so getting wasted next time I'm in Saskatoon.

pdiggitydogg 04-23-2006 10:19 AM

Well, first of all, it's a Sony Ericsson, which is notorious for bad user interface. The MP3 feature is loud but without clarity, and the reception is average. It doesn't even use a memory chip...go for the higher model, the W900i (?).

pdiggitydogg 04-23-2006 01:17 PM

It doesnt have volume control?
I dont need a super duper phone...but i guess you get what you pay for when you start adding things

JDMFantasy2k 04-23-2006 01:20 PM

here's mine
samsung a-950 i absolutely love it. WMA player, stereo speakers, 1.3MP camera, video camera and tons of other stuff

KwikR6 04-23-2006 03:10 PM

That's a pretty nice phone also man. I like my razr the best out of any phone i've had/seen/used.

GT40FIED 04-24-2006 01:55 AM

Here's what I'm rockin'...Motorola E815: http://www.mobiledia.com/phones/motorola/e815.html

Nice MP3 player, decent camera (as cell phones go, I guess), and really way more phone than I'll ever need. I did have to hack my phone, but probably because Verizon is a company full of greedy bastards (it's a long story). So far it's worked really well for me.

ebpda9 04-24-2006 10:20 AM

hmm i am sporting a samsung a670

Wren57 04-24-2006 10:07 PM

black razr here... far too common though, preferred my old 2000 phone that had an auto-open slide button ala Matrix...

Oh yeah, thats the shit right there...

GT40FIED 04-24-2006 10:33 PM

Holy shit. That A990 is pretty damn sweet.

GT40FIED 04-25-2006 01:44 AM

My old phone was a Kyocera...total crap. I'm so glad it's dead.

Addict 04-25-2006 09:11 PM

Not to jack your thread..... But the A900 is on its way from Sprint! Best of all I got it for $99.99. :) $349.99 retail - $150 loyalty rebate - $100 PLEASE DON'T LEAVE credit Ha! I rule!

HondaImpaler 04-26-2006 06:06 PM

Hey Derek take it easy on the internet browsing if you're using it. I was talking to a friend and it's 2$ a page!! Some dude that worked with his wife was showing people the new phone and blew a 300$ card in an hour or so.

ohhh yeeeaaaahhh

pdiggitydogg 04-26-2006 11:29 PM

As much as I love to knock my phone, its actually a real trooper. A few days before xmas, I threw it in the wash, along with some clothes. Full cycle wash, rinse, 2nd rinse, and even hit the drier for 70minues on full heat.
I took it out, air dried it for a full 24hrs...put the battery back in and it powered right up.
Sure the screen only works if it hasnt been used in 30minutes...but other than that, I shouldnt complain at all. All features work otherwise, even the camera. Thanks LG

(seriously though...i want a new phone)

ChrisCantSkate 04-29-2006 10:16 AM

ive got a sony ericsson t312 or something like that... i hate it but it wont break. kinda bad reception sometimes but whos phone dosnt have that. im gonna get a slivr next probobly. i wanted a razr for its size and all, but i hate the flip... i'll go with the slivr

Yeah, not every cell phone has good reception. People gotta realize that not all cell phones are perfect. The razr is pretty sweet man.

ChrisCantSkate 04-29-2006 10:49 AM

for reception i dont even care really. as long as it basically works thats all i need. i dont need my phone for work or school, its a way of getting ahold of people so if they cant hear me like im standing next to them fuck em, we're smart people and can figure it out witha few missing words every now and then. i just hate when i answer and i cant hear someone but they can hear me or visa-versa, thats my only complant about my phone, but then a few trys at calling each other at the same time and eventually its fixed :D a few of my friends have a razr, but im not a fan of the flip phone. me and a phone with moving parts=bad. the slivr seems to be just like the razr but without the flip that i would probobly snap off within 2 months.

KwikR6 04-29-2006 10:51 AM

A little rough on our phones are we? hahaha:D

ChrisCantSkate 04-29-2006 11:00 AM

you dont even know.... ive dropped one in a fish tank, kicked one ontop of a roof(drunk) and a hurricane came the next day and ruined it, one i though i could play football with.. bad idea. one i went swimming with, one i ran over, still worked then dropped it out of my car(not moving, was sitting on my lap and i stood up) and it fell apart, same day. one of them i fell on while skating and cracked the screen, one of them was "full of sand" or at least thats what they told me. the last broken one i actually just wore out from small drops, throwing it in the "phone charging area" of my living room and general mistreatment. my current phone fell off my balcony a few days ago but apears to be ok besides its normal shittyness

then cingular had the nerve to cancel my phone insurance saying i was a "high risk". i wonder why. :D

dabouncerx24 04-29-2006 12:24 PM

wow

We go through Lockline and I think you're allowed to insure a phone three times a year. You're horrible if you got canceled! :nana: You should just get on ebay and get a phone next time, rather than paying the $50 deductible everytime for the same exact phone.

RAZR is great. SLVR is great. However, the SLVR cannot be insured which is ghey times two.

the w600i is actually one of my favorite phones to sell. The reception is great in my area, and I live in a fairly small town with few Cingular towers and few Cingular roaming towers. I would go for the w900i too, for the quality but always keep in mind when getting a NON- Cingular phone (esp. one for $400+) that it cannot be insured. That would suck if you broke it. Trust me, I've done it. :)

If you absolutely want music and you want to be able to buy a memory chip, get a S710a which the model before the W600i but I actually like it a little better. It still swivels, still has the 1.3 megapixel but one thing I like about mien is that it uses a mino sd card. I like the screen on it better, too! The camera is also cooler looking. Granted, the w600i was advertised and designed for music but I still like my s710 > w600i.

Or if you want something newer, try the SLVR. Up to a gig I think.

Another phone that we're launching soon is the V3i. RAZR but with iTunes. Should be kind of nifty. :)

If it launched, would you choose the Treo 700 > the a900? I think the a900 is the only reason I would ever switch to spring... it's the hotness!!!

very nice phone. I used the cingular 6682 last year before it got recalled. have you used much of the UMTS yet? I was wondering if Cingular would give you the WAP settings for it..because that'd be way cool.

edit: temporarily recalled. it's back now but Nokia USA is still kinda stinkin' it up!

It depends on your usage. For business, the Treo 700 or 650 is the ONLY way to go (6700 is nice too). For most people, the A900 or A920 is the way to rock. I've owned a Treo 650 and I loved it (sed alot for my jobs). But it got to be bulky at times when I wasn't working (try clubbin with a Treo; ain't happenin).

I don't agree that it's the ONLY way to go. The new Cingular 8125 is pretty spiffy, too. Try the smartphone + pda all in one. Anyway, I was just wondering what you'd go for. A lot of my customers walk into my store choosing looks over features and I was wondering why. If you use a Treo for business AND clubbin, try getting a more compact phone on eBay or something. It sounds silly, but a lot of people have been likin' that idea.

I'm actually on T-Mobile right now :).
Can you explain those two acronyms?

Like many other 6680 users, the given flashware sucks ass and gives all kinds of problems..since its an import not supported by Nokia USA, what should I do?

Smartphones are what you would call that category of phones (PDA + Phone). The Treo 700 is Windows Mobile as well. As is the 6700 that I mentioned (which looks strangely ALOT like the 8125).

When it comes to smartphones, its a matter of preference. I prefer the Palm OS over the Windows Mobile. Its much easier to navigate with a single and without a stylus than the Windows Mobile (though it has gotten better). Since I've owned a Treo 650, an IPAQ & many regular cell phones I speak from experience on that. The only reason I parted ways with my Treo was size. I wasn't using enough for business to justify keeping it.
