This whole post got overblown because highlander didn't mention that it's basically a message to OPAKRACING... he is talking about spending thousands and thousands of dollars on his civic in hopes of something that he probobly won't get.... That's not to say you can't be more than happy modding racing auto-xing a civic till the day you die... it's just saying that if your goal is to build a track car or a auto-x car a honda just isn't the most intelligent choice... there are a bivvy of other cars out there more suited to handleing the road and handleing the extra power you intend on giving it.

I like my civic it's alright with a 50 shot or a turbo I'm sure it'd be quick with 3-10 k I'm sure I could get lots of respect at a track... but if your looking to win at the track in something other than bracket racing.... honda's not the way to go (unless your more concerned with sponsorship money than you are having the best platform for the job.).

and oc... if you don't realize that your buddy could have bought a 240 or a sentra ser and turboed the sr20de motor and had a WAY faster car with MUCH better traction and handling AND it would've been cheaper... you nutz.

highlander.....don't worry bout this petty shit.....all and all everything you've said is true....all it's coming down to is how much money you have at the time of purchase.....if you have $30K and opt to buy a civic instead of somethin else....your issues are arising.....why buy a civic and not somethin else that is exactly at the same stage + the mods as the civic.....the point is to go fast isn't it?
OPAK if you want a 600HP car.....and can't tear yourself away from a subwoofer box you got issues.....they're runnin civics at nearly 10's......and all they got is there seat and the other racing material......so why don't you start tearing apart your interior and if your not sick of doing that.....then buy your swap and everything else your ready to do....but never really thought in depth about

Dude, listen. Im not telling people what to spend their money on, I simply don't care, I am just trying to help them make an educated decision if they choose they want be the "fastest" (I know there is always someone faster). I said many times I think civics are cool and I would like to have one, but for the same amount of money their are better alternatives... They aren't wrong to spend their money. However they spend their money is fine with me, but I tend to like to give people a heads-up when I might know something they either dont or have overlooked. And, as I said in my original post, these are JUST MY THOUGHTS. Jeez people, agree to disagree, its OK...

I'd have to say i agree with you on every thing you just listed. There are so many kids who get a civic and/or want a civic because everybody else has one.
I saw a kid i know yesterday who said he wanted to get a civic cause they are "hot". Said he liked what i had done with mine and wanted to follow suit. The bottom line is that modified civics are everywhere, and that is why people are decieved into thinking they are untapped performance powerhouses.

Its good to have people here who are not honda owners/not honda lovers. This causes people like me to question if we are going to spend our money properly - why would people not want to do what will be most benificial for themselves (if nobody questions what you do, how do you know you are doing things the best way??)
