lol, no offense man, but when you compare a all out drag integra, to a fully streetable mildy modified trans am, what do you expect, talk about apples to oranges, and thats why i brought up the datsun, cause it has nothing to do with anything lol.

btw im almost 100% sure it has that much spray in it... i know because it does over 2 seconds less in the 1/4 mile without it.. although he might be a backyard mechanic/ helluva enthusiast from what ive seen doesnt mean he cant pick and choose the right parts for even such an extreme application ;)

btw i didnt try to put you down, im just offering a different insight on the matter, cause i thought that that comment was hilarious.

guys.. whats more important? hp or speed? it seems that its always about who's got more hp... but in all hoesty whoever has the fastest car wins. ive seen 7 and 8 second dautsuns powerd from japanise engines (20b) this argument will go on and on, it will never get solved. its debating a never ending topic.

ford50forlife 02-18-2003 03:50 PM

its about whoever has the best power to weight and can hook. (gearing to a lesser extent) but driver too.

hell the little .8 corrollas of your can be transplanted with just about anything these days and 200+ hp goes along way behind the fenderwells in those deathtraps :) even moreso than a h22 swap in a crx ;)

yup the ae86's(old corollas) are rwd, and have accepted everything from the f20c(s2k motor) to a 20b (triple rotor twin turbo) they haul ass and handle sooo well. a very very fast car

haichi roku! initial d style OWNS U! i tryed to drift once in my moms 99 mustang, but i ended up hitting a fire hydrant inadvertantly (sp?) causing 3 k worth of damage

there is one around here in bridgeport (i dunno the style though its definetly older that 86 and its a little tiny thing you can pick up with 2 people almost) thats rumored to have a worked 5.0liter conversion in it.. i dont know how well this story holds but the source i got i from was trustworthy enough and has been around the racing scene. (some guy at uhaul that kicked my ass in a built 347 mustang with slicks, luckily he was nice enough to let me disconnect the nitrous before the race  ) i heard the corrolla does 9s

Actually ****tards, they're not. I never said I destroy them, far from it. Every single one I've ran depends just about all on the driver and how car that specific car runs. That is why I said MUCH, sometimes they are, sometimes they're not. Get off your little 'LT1's and LS1's are unbeatable' soapbox. We'll use the faster LS1 for example, stock, they are CApABLE of running a VERY HIGH 12, that is with a percect driver, and absolutely perfect weather conditions. Thats at the track, where traction is much better too. Now take into consideration I've only ran these things on the street, with regular street drivers. Not to say all of them were bad, but they weren't putting high 12's on their slips either. Maybe they picked out a bad combination of parts. Hell, I got beaten by one with a few other things this past Saturday night, but not too bad, only by 1 length.

I don't remember what all you asked me except my race weight. The car weighs 2200, and I'm 150. That should answer that.

regardless the majority of heads cam packaged ls1's run 11@ over 122 with street tires regardless of the part combination from watching them at the track and on camaroz28.com i know they are none off the top of my head slower than 12.0 and even then the trap was 119.. and some run-

GET THIS 10.9 WITHOUT HEADS! PURE STOCK heads and a cam with some tuning... so i highly doubt a ls tegra motor and a turbo is pushing those times unless you got the 400+fwhp and suspension to back it up even with 2200 lbs.

did you get that figure at a racetrack scale and if so was it gutted to the frame? since you were at the track and weighed it did you happen to get slips, what was your trap speed?

btw so your saying in completely street trim, you car is capable of hanging with a car that traps at 120mph?

heres the link agian.

heres some info for the unelightened

sad part is i dont like ls1's in the least, to much money to unreliable when built. it funny someone with a mildy built honda combination can sit there and make a blanket statement then come back at the end of the thread and say how he BEATS THE STOCK ONES.... exactly how many heads cam ls1's did you beat?

ford50forlife 02-18-2003 05:13 PM

btw i call complete bs if you didnt already know.

im thinking of a ae86 or a s13(240sx) for my next car... i want something small and fun. even though the s13 weighs in just under my car in stock trim.

for drifting a mustang.... its hard enough drifting a car with a lsd and good suspension.. ahha... my friend "drifted" his open diff s14 into a curb last sunday night, caused 2 grand worth of damage.
