I want to lower my car a little but I dont' know how about doin this. I know you can get coilovers or springs but I heard coilovers make the ride rougher. So I am leaning towards springs. I have 17" rims and I don't know how low I can go. This is my first time doing this. Please help me out and tell me what I need to do. Also tell me what you would you all recommend. I plan on getting a body kit sooner or later also. What all do I need to get?

i would go coil overs as they are adjustable.. aand if you ever change rim choice or something you can adjust the hight...

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that also. What is a good set of coilovers? Something fairly cheap. Also what all do I need besides the coilovers? Camber kits?

well with coilovers you get what you pay for. Ground Control are good and so are Skunk2. I also hear that MaxSpeed are pretty inexpensive and are relatively good too. If you drop it more than 1.5" I say go with a camber kit but that also depends on if you start to notice wear before you buy them. Lots of people are lower than 2", no camber kits, and have no uneven wear at all.

I think I'm gonna go with the Maxspeed coilovers they are reasonably priced and I don't think I will need to lower more than 3". How hard are they to put on?

I'm installing some cheap dropzone coilovers this weekend, i'll inform you on the ride quality.

get some nice struts to go with them too. that way the ride won't be that hard, or the car so stiff. about the camber kit i'm dropped only 1.3" and i already have 1.75 degrees of camber. it all depends on the car. older cars have more camber problems

But whenever you lower the car with coilovers, you mess up your alignment. Go with springs.

not really, when i lowered my car my alignment didn't get messed up, only my camber did

but coils are stiffer then springs, it all depends on what kinda look your going for

Alignment can be messed up if the car recieves a BIG adjustment. Camber is almost always messed up by lowering the car.
