Okay. My friends thought it would be a funny joke to jump on my hood last night, and they ended up f'ing it up and denting it. Ya, they are morons. Anyway, they have agreed to pay for the damage and they all gave me 350 dollars. I got quoted for the damage and they told me it would cost about 300 to fix the dents. Anyway, I have decided to get a carbon fiber hood instead and I was wondering if any of you guys knew of a good place to get one for around that price. If worse comes to worst I will add to the 350 to cover the rest. ANY IDEAS!? Thanks!

if you lived near me i would make you a custom carbon hood, and even tint if for you for $200 I could even mess with the weaving and make an accented H in the center of your hood. To bad you live in Cali.

carbon is alot tougher then most metals.. i wont be to worries about it, until you have your dumbass friends messing around on your hood again... next time floor the car and them slame on the breaks.. maybe landing on their faces will teach them

Yes I can seriously make CF hoods. If you saw the shop i have in the basement this would have never been asked, I can even paint cars if nessary. Granted I have yet to make a CF for anyone but I have worked with carbon fiber before and I believe with about 4 hours of experimenting you would have one kickass custom cf hood. See the 4 hours would be to come up with a mold that size. If and when I get my 325i I will make myself a CF hood and possibly (if it looks right) CF break callipers of course they will be covers only.

fyi carbon fiber isn't as hard to work with as you might think. you can pick up small amount of it for 40-50$ and mess around with carboning things.. its cool you should try it. Just remember to get UV protected clear coat otherwise it will break down and go poop after a year or so in the sun.

just be careful when you buy hoods, i've seen LotS of one that just dont fit right. fiber images and TC spoilers are good companys. the rest all seem to have problems

Mmmmkay...the deal w/this is: BE CAREFUL of what you're buying. Most of these hoods that you see for like $350... are FIBERGLASS w/1 coat of carbon fiber.

Read the fine print. :paranoid:
