Wow, that's a pretty big deal for them. I wish there were more details.

Just remember they have a 36000 mile waranty and it has a supercharger. Would a Honda or any other car be trouble free for that long juced up that much and getting beat on consistantly? They want them to be totaly reliable so ther are not a lot of warranty issues. just what I think

They've had problems with that dumb car since '99. Like I have said awhile back, they probably didnt fix the problem from '99(not having enough HP due to compression and other crap) so they just used the motors anyway and slapped on a supercharger and now they're finding other crap wrong with it.

WOW 3 whole years:crazy:

Also a friend of mine just bought the new supercharged F150 and with only a couple hundred miles on the clock it started blowing a bunch of black smoke. Not to mention he had to turn one before that one in because of someother problems.

You can buy an additional warrenty good for 100,000 miles for under $2000

And with their quality vehicles you better get it.

Hmm, thats quite a shame.. I like the new Cobras (not that I actually would own one.)

I think Ford should spend a little more money on quality testing before they release cars into production or something. I like Ford trucks, but Im afraid to buy one because you never know what your going to get with them. If I ever did buy one. I would definately spend the extra on the extended warranty.

Wonder that the problem with the Cobra is!?!?! :o

nah a sweet deal is a 6 year warranty bumper to bumper, unlimited miles for $1300+tax @15%. I bought that with my RL because I was planning on keeping the car for more then the 4 life of the orignial warranty. So far I've broken even on it, got the rear suspension changed out (i ruined it) and something else but i've forgotten it.

Back to Ford, it does seem that they are lacking on R&N and the interior layout of their stangs is horrible. The amount of plastic makes me sick and the shifter looks ALL wrong. I'm not sad to see them pull the line, maybe when they re-launch it they will have put more effort into the design. Could be better in the long run.

I can sit here a nd tell you all the problems I have had with hondas, mitsubishi, even my old lexus, but I dont say it is crap (well mitsubishi is but that is just my experience with them) The only car that has not given me trouble is my mustang. All vehicles have problems the only problem in the 99 cobra wes the intake, to small ports robbed hp. ford went recall crazy with my 98 because there was not enough sound deadener in the trunk. ford over reacts but at least they do something. I had to argue to get the AC fixed in my bros Prelude at 4000 miles. ALL cars suck sometimes you get a good one.

You never win with a car....Its prolly the worst investment there is....prolly the most fun at the same time..

That sucks. I kinda liked the 03 Cobras. I wouldn't own one, but still....
Wonder what they f*cked up?

must be the people you guys are dealing with. I have found if a honda/acura has a problem the dealership stands behind it better then any other car i've been around.

cars are the worst investment, i dont even think you can call them an investment. The value 1/2s the minute you drive them off the lot

i agree with this statment. every car has its problems, but when it happens to a import, it seems like it just gets swept under the rug, but when a domestic has one little recall, its OH CRAP look at that reliability. in the 70's domestic reliability sucked, i think they've salvaged themselves. i can go on FOREVER on problems with ANY car manufacutre. if you care to prove me wrong, tell me a company.

with that reliability issue, yes all cars (diff manufacturers) will have a lemon.. its just how it is... quality control in a assembly plant might be excellent.. but 100% quality never prevails.... dont think id want to buy a car built on a monday.. for obvious reasons

A company occasionally having problems with their cars is one thing but when they have consistent problems with their Flagship vehicle thats something else all together.
