Hello all!
Does the oil really matters? I'm currently using some generic oil, will there be a difference if a put another oil? if yes, what oil would that be?

Yes, good (synthetic being best) oil will reduce friction and help the engine run more efficiently.

Man for some reason the box of the Castrol GTX is just so unique, it makes me by thier oil... it pulls me in, it says "buy me"... and i do, cause no one else has a square shaped box.... I just have to have it, i need it, it keeps me cool on long drives.

I think you mean Royal Purple. Do a search on the net to find where to buy it.

Crown Royal tastes a little better though ;)

I've never seen that stuff before... doesn't have those nifty commercials on TV...

So let me ask this...

Just how do you KNOW that one oil is superior to another, Other than running an engine 100,000 miles with each oil. Do Oils have like a Viscosicity RATING ?? (sp?) I'm a facts and Data type of guys I wanna see numbers.

make sure when you put in the new oil, flush out the old stuff with some clean oil. let it drain. If its really bad, have an oil change place throw some oil system cleaner in with your oil. Or you can do it yourself. Don't drain your oil, just add that stuff in, let it run for about 10 minutes, then drain. I don't know what its called though.

I just switched to castrol syntec. good stuff. I'll probably switch to the full synthetic stuff one my next change.
