I have been told by alot of my friends for me to get new Cam Gears and a Pulley set. But I do not know if they are worth getting or not? Can anyone tell me if they are worth getting, and recommend a brand to get.

I did the AEM Power Pulley set that comes with a PS pulley and alternator pulley. I noticed a lil quicker throttle response. Cam gears...you should get upgraded cam shafts at the same time to get the most benefit

well the pulleys are only about 90 bucks and you will free up like 3 hp I mean hell yeah it be worht it how much hp do you get from a 300 dollar header???? like 3 or so. With teh cam gear unless you go to a dyno to set it rigt its pretty much useless.

i agree...cam gears are gonna match ur cam timing to ur engine tuning. and by upgrading the shafts at the same time...ull see an more of a difference. the pulleys are nice because they reduce the power required to drive misc. things and allows for more horsepower at the wheels. and theres no reason that u couldnt do this AND turbo ur car...ull see a benefit whether ur car is stock, n/a, modded or f/i.

Keep in mind that if you do change out the pullies, you can't run a stereo system greater than 300 watts(per AEM anyhow). Just a thought.

I run a JL 300/4 that runs 75x4 and I'm sure that's wahy under rated. I run 2 Boston components and an 8000 series MTX 12" and my lights don't dim anything. I probably wouldn't try to run much more though

If you're going to put in a sterio system, you should upgrade the alternator anyways.

Yes it is worth getting. Your gonna need better cams and pulley kit to work on the horsepower you got. the stock ones wont be as good, and the camshaft could break because of too much power. Skunk 2 has some good cams. Unorthodox racing also has cams and pulley kits.
