Hello everyone!! I just installed a bolt-on muffler made of stainless steel on my civic? I want to take good care of it and wandering what should i use to keep the muffler from rusting and take put the fingerprints out. I tried to wipe it out and the marks are still there. Can anyone suggest any products to keep my muffler nice and clean? THANK YOU! :)

Well since its stainless steal it shouldnt rust.
Try some kind of polish if you really want to clean it that bad.

Windex Cleans it up really nice. Also try getting a solvent that makes stuff rust proof or prevents rust.

I am just concerned because when i took out the stock muffler, i was very disgusted with it- the hangers were so rusted, which looked like it would come out anytime and the muffler was very dirty and black. I just don't want my new muffler to look like the stock one.

THANK YOU for helping me out!! i appreciate it.

use degreaser to clean the muffler. like simple green or something.

industrial strength degreaser is fantastic and cheap. Go to a school and ask a custodian for a bottle (you'd be suprised that they'll say sure (I do ;) ) hell the school doesnt pay for it, the admins do. :D )) Something like Wexford brand is great. Most indutrial degreasers are pink and they work hell of a lot better than the stuff in stores....make sure you wear some gloves:crazy:

Simple Green is the best move. It turned my muffler from black to shining in one try.

You Just Dont Know Till You Know

WD-40 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hands Down thier is no better degreaser.

Also if the shop welded hangers to your muffler, those spots will rust.
