Whats up all, new member here.

I am getting this decal put on my white 98 Honda Civic on Tuesday. What do yall think?

Mine will be the same blue, but since I have a white car, the drop shadow will be in a silvery color.

What ya think?

PS - Any Houston people in here? Im on the SE side.

hmmm I don't know if I'm feeling that for your civic, but I would have to say it's your ride and if you like it go for it. I don't think it looks bad just not what I would choose.

Good luck on your decision though...;) ;)

Well first let's see your car, let's see what other mods you have....

Car looks stock on the outside cept my exhaust. Have AEM CAI as well. Have a white windshield sticker with blue lettering on teh front. Have Enkei RS6 rims(16"). Can post a photo this afternoon if you like.

Photo will help. My theory on decal, is if you'r going to do it, it'd be nice to have the car dropped, body kit, and maybe a nice spoiler. Decals is one of the last things i'd put ona car, that's if i put them on at al.

I do plan to get the aluminum spoiler (silver.... oh what do you call it.... 'flat part'? lol and black tips (sides)). Keep in mind that the colors will be alittle less. Silver instead of black. That will make it alittle less out there, i guess you could say. I have a computer image the guy generated for me. Cant quite get the detailed image in my head or the final product, but I think it will look good.

Here is the order I am going to do my mods in:
Decal
aluminum spoiler or clear tails
body kit or under body light kit
Then some inside stuff.

But I will post a photo around 4ish today (now 10:45a)

Isn't the under the hood lighting kit illegal in TX?

pdiggitydogg
10-18-2002, 11:01 AM
I hate those GT wings (sorry) and I would definately put some coilovers on it (or springs in your case since you never get snow in TX) to drop it and improve handling. Then I would instead go for the body kit. Finally the decal, which in another forum, most of us decided were..."poo". But hell man, its your ride and this whole thing is about individuality, so do what you like.:) :)

It isnt illegal if you cant see the source of the light. If only the hue can be seen, its ok.

Anyone know the lighting law for Souther Cali, LA area??

Im curious if there is anyone who likes decals lol. Im debating the whole lowering thing. Not sure how much trouble I would have getting into and leaving elevated parking areas....

Just ask some 'police officers' or other car enthusiasts(sp mistake).

Settle down cobra... Some people like this so called style mods vs the performance mods. If he ricez it in the process, then so be it. I tried talking to one of them the other day, it was a waste of time. I don't under stand it either, but hey, you own a stang, so i know you're a performance guy... gj.

What is so wrong or untastefull about adding accent to your car? Just like an apartment.. you add stuff to it to make it nicer...

pdiggitydogg
10-18-2002, 06:03 PM
decals are bad, if you really really want a look get it airbrushed. that way you wont get that added sticker look. I think you should just get some go fast or performance goodies first, thats all.

Im not sure if i posted this in thie thread or not... There is a reason I am going this route.

I have a bit of a driving history and my insurance is high. Im not proud of it, but young people think they are kings of the road. I havent had anything in over 2 1/2 - 3 yrs though (now 22).

I pay most of my bills but cant pay a couple of them, car insurance being one. My dad pays it still. Which means, if I get another ticket, the insurance goes up. He does not feel like paying more for my stupidity.

That is why I am going this route. I have AEM CAI and Naxos Exhaust. Might get a header 4-2-1 later. But I am going pretty much for the visuals. I mean if you dont like the particular decal no problem, suggest another one... I dont want to go with air brushed (paint). When i sell the car, the person may not want it on there, so I want to option to remove it. Also, if you get into a car accident.. And the paint is on more than one panel (like many are), you are going to have to get a brand new paint job. Where as a decal (sticker), just peel the rest off and walla.

well sorry you asked for opinions and they gave them. i personally have to agree with them. about the only car that has graphics on it is a red mitsu and he has teh carbon hood and on teh side he has the light gray airbrushing, it isnt that noticable so it looks decent but definately not lovely.

Well in the end it's all about individuality. What one person likes, someone else may not, and that's ok too. Your car is kind of an extension of your personality in a way.

i agree. but personally, i'm not into the cosmetic aspect all that much. decals and flashing lights and things of that nature just dont do anything for me. i think u should take the money ud use for those types of things and just put it under the hood. but thats just my .02.

well then why bother spending money on your car at all.

performance mods can go unnoticed by cops as long as you don't speed. it's not like putting on a header instead of some stickers is going to force your foot to the floor.

and if avoiding tickets is your big concern then. DUDE cops notice cars with BIG ASS DECALS. you don't think that every time a cop see's your car with the stickers he's not gunna look at the radar gun?

If I were you I wouldn't waste the money and as far as being able to take off those decals... what are they putting them on with magnatism?? if it's glue you ain't getting those off for nothing. a header would come off and you could save the stocker to put back on when you sell it.

basically people in here don't like to see money getting spent on BLING BLING.

my car has two dented fenders a missing passenger side blinker and I just spent 100 bucks on a turbo.

ShagginJet
10-22-2002, 01:10 PM
lmfao.... 100 buck on the turbo, and all dented up... gj biz.

Probably just the turbine, which should be a fair deal as long as there isnt a ton of play with it. Nice find for a custom turbo app. What car did the turbine come out of? Talon/Eclipse?

Personally, I don't like it. But its your car so to each his/her own!

I have thought about what a lot of the people in this forum have been saying. And I have looked at it time and again. I think i am going to delay the decal for a bit. I want to get some other 'visual' effects first. Here is a photo of my car with an aluminum spoiler. Its the not exact one I am going to get, just a generalization.

"This is Tower to flight D16...you are clear for take-off. Please proceed down lane 1"

"All passengers please prepare for take-off. Buckle your seatbelts and put seats and trays in the fully upright position. Thank you for flying YOUR CAR IS NOT AN AIRPLANE Airways "

I dont know man...wait I do...thats poo too. Sorry but if youre not doing a turismo circuit...please dont put a park bench on your car.

And to bizniz that thinks decals will not come off... *smack*
They come off...
Call dent doctors...You can get mad dents fixed for $100
And as I've said before
Turbos don't impress anybody that needs impressing
of course
Big ugly wings and gaudy decals only impress simple people

but hey do what ever...

Yall do understand that the image of my car with the spoiler. That spoiler is not real. I got it from a web site and did some photo shop work to it. Cus from yall comments I cant tell if you are thinking the photo is all real...

10-23-2002, 05:16 PM
 yea... i think we understand its a photo shop

AND GOSH DARN IT .... WHY ARE THIER TWO THREADS WITH THE SAME STUFF IN EM !!!! this is entirely too much effort

and ya'll aint a word...

pdiggitydogg
10-23-2002, 05:44 PM
yeah we know its photoshop...you said it was. Thank god it is too because if it wasnt...well...you know...

From the looks of the pic you need to drop the car first. get some springs and a set of kyb agx or tokico illuminas. that really fix that monster truck..er..car look you got goin on with those big wheels and stock suspension right now. That's what that car needs, not wings

civic3x98
10-23-2002, 07:23 PM
How about a lower and then the wing? Or vise versa.

If the pic was real, I could take off lol.

pdiggitydogg
10-23-2002, 08:39 PM
how about lowering it and then a camber adjust kit (if ya need it). then spend money on a spoiler not a wing (that is if you want something back there).

lower it yes, wing - if you want it. i will never suggest it due to the fact that its TOO big.

civic3x98
10-23-2002, 11:00 PM
I dont know much about lowering springs. What are some good brands..

I know of Eibach and Progressive. Thats about it. Any ideas? I dont want a real big drop. Just something to give the car some accent..

slowEJ6
10-23-2002, 11:12 PM
H&R/Neuspeed SPORT springs - about a 1.5" drop - works nicely even on stock shocks for a LONG TIME. and they are only around $150.
VERY good springs though. i suggest them over anything else due to their price and quality.
Eibach is great - but its expensive, too expensive imo.

civic3x98
10-23-2002, 11:20 PM
Again my knowledge of lowering springs isnt that great. So this might be a dumb question.

These lowering springs would replace the springs I currently have correct? The shocks would remain untouched?

slowEJ6
10-23-2002, 11:23 PM
well, youd have to touch your shocks to remove the springs.....but youd still be using the stock shocks, just swapping out springs.

civic3x98
10-23-2002, 11:25 PM
Id have to use a spring compressor right? Or just get it done somewhere?

slowEJ6
10-23-2002, 11:34 PM
i recommend a spring compressor.
dont pay some shop to do it, cheaper to DIY.
