These cars dont come with tacs
and until i can find a good one that i trust will work honestly seeying they are all over 100$ and that is my cost cause i order them thru the shop.
i need to know what i can take my car up to in each gear without any damage at all...

no damage and be safe? 4000-5500 is a nice range. I think the vtec kicks in around that time too...that is if you have an EX coupe...your thing doesnt say. If its a DX LX no vtec. Im not sure if there was a CX or HX in that 99-00 generation. But the CX has no vtec and the HX has evtec witch isnt as good as regular vtec. And now that Ive gone off on something that you didnt even care about I wil stop:D

6800 rpm.
i have a CX, i hit the rev limiter at 7100.
just get an Si gauge cluster and swap it into your car, it has a tach, it'll work. or get the SiR gauge cluster.
w/o any damage? well you cant just hit redline every time you go into the next gear - your motor wouldnt be happy.

the evtec doesnt work exactly the same as regualr vtec and doenst produce as much power. I forget where i read this, it was a while ago. If Im wrong, Im wrong, I'm just goin off what Im told.

its really not feasible to shift at 2k in a civic, that would really lag the motor. i usually shift at 3k just so i dont have to floor it to keep it from laging. But AccordMan your driving an accord and those do have more torque right???

not as good ?!?!? depends on what your looking for! if you drive over 18k a year and like great gas milage, with no compermise (sp?) on performance, than it's great !
Besides, i don't think it's the vtech that loses power, the gear ratios for the 4th and 5th gear ratios are REALLY conservative and give you no power, I have to drop into third in order to gain some umph
To take a stab at the question posed....... 6500 rpm... just a guess.

ive seen stock HX's producing better times than stock EX's, more than a handful of them.
1st gear - 38mph
2nd gear - 63mph
3rd gear - 90mph
4th gear - top speed.
5th gear - blah.
thats a close estimate, i have a tach, i dont pay attn to the mph

Just get this, you can put it in the car in about 30-45 mins depending if you know what you're doing.

I have no problem spanking an EX
seriously though ... I've yet to meet an EX with the same mods that can beat me so something is up.. Bret has an HX too and he ran 15.7 with intake/exhaust same mods as myself. Maybe it's the sexy lil 14" wheels :D
