well i am new to the car world and i am wondering what the difference between the B16A 1st generation and the B16A 2nd generation basicly all i see is that the 1st generation has cable type trans. with 160hp and the gen. 2 has +10hp and hydraulic operated trans. whats the difference, and what will proform better in the 1/4? **this would all be for a HF or Si 90-91 crx**

oh yeah and the one other difference is that the 2nd gen is over a $1000 more then the 1st gen... is it worth the money?

Not much except the cable and hydro......You want the cable if your doing the 88-91 swap .....If your planiing on doing it go with the hf. Also you can take that extra 1000 and put some nice mods on it to get a little more hp..The secod gen was for the 92 an up ....

Type R intake manifold
DC sports 4 into 1 header
skunk2 short shifter and knob
Aem Fly wheel
custom Exhaust
Cold air intake
Rota light weight wheels ...11lbs each
Place racing front crossmember with 4 th mount
And some other mods ....Shhhhhhhhh its a secret....

Im at sround 5500 with everything ......I bought the rollin chassi for 800. The rest was just parts here and there with all the stuuf I bought....All the stuff like axles and shift linkage and hoses cables were bought new ....so you could save some cash there if you can find some of that at a salvage yard ....The install was pretty simple ...it really comes down to if you think you can do it .....Were there is a will there is a way...

If you have the extra cash do the type R intake manifold $240.00 ,spoon throttle body 70mm $500.00, Dc Sports 4 into 1 header $200.00 , place racing front cross member with 4th mount $190.00 , Place racing mounts $400.00 , Place racing Cold air intake $ 185.00 , And what ever else you may have money for ....If you go to get mounts and parts make sure you deal with place racing and ask for jonathan....Make sure you tell him ty roth sent you......
