when a car company uses black plastic on the hood of their car to make it look like an intake and also tries to make it look like their are intakes on the side rears (normally for mid/rear engine cars) they lose my respect as designers.

I side with the Type-r tho it might be over rated it has a nicer design and level of quality that even the cobras can't touch.... *raises hand* SIT DOWN!

FYI, the heat extractor hood on the 2003 is functional.
the side scoops are just for style. why MUST they be functional?
Ford isn't tryin to make people believe they are functional either.
the integra has better design and quality? you sure about that? you obvioulsy have not been inside a Cobra, let alone an 01 or 03. i've even sat in Type-R's, and they're no 03 cobra, or even a 95 GT. not to start an arguement, but i think you farted out that reply.

o.k., time to put mu $0.02 in, Cobras are nice cars, very nice...I just wouldn't pay the $34,000+ price tag attached to it....yes, more horse power, torque, blah blah blah but still......

i drove quite a few cobras by now, and i'm not too impressed with them (neither with hondas) but i couldn't see any difference in quality between the regular stans and cobras. the only stang that i really liked was a saleen 421e. can we say smooth beast ? i'd like one of those cars.

oh you mean the saleen S281-E. it is only a 2 valve with a built motor and a supercharger. the 03 cobra is slightly faster. the 03 interior is much better as well. the saleens interior only has white face guages (just like the cobra) and it says saleen on the seats. for 65,000, they can keep it.
and about the 03 cobra costing too much, a type R is 26,000 plus whatever options and it doesnt have much to show for all that money.

that's true. I'm not gonna argue with ya, but that's why I own an Accord Ex and not an Integra Type R....

i wasn't sure about the number. it has it on the front bumper. if i think about it it was 281e. anyway the teg type r is a bit overrated.

no offense acuras and hondas ,in general, are fun to drive cars, but if it comes to drag racing and stuff like that i would forget about them. i really like the way they handle. if i would start dragracing i would look at a v8 at least.

yes of course, for drag, big displacement is the way to go..

But seeing a 2.2L motor ripping the 1/4 in low 9s.. It's simply breathtaking..

Wish I had the ressources to do that..

That is pretty interesting.. Probably not something you would tell your Mustang buds huh..:D Im just playing. I think Type-Rs get hyped up so much (as well as with a lot of imports) That you dont really know what to do but believe in what you read in magazines and so forth. I know I have learned a lot since I got into imports. I guess you could say, I learned the hard way.;)

I was kinda the opposite of you. I wanted a '88 GT. Mom and dad wouldnt buy it for me because of insurance and gas. Which I understand completely now. But I didnt like the idea then. Well I ended up getting a probe. It was an ok car it got me to work and school and back home. But anymore, Im just really tired of 4 cylinder cars.:paranoid:

im taking his side here, type-r's are 26,000 for no options, 14.7 car that handles quite well. but the mustang perfromance wise beats it in probobly every catagory but MAYBE handling, i havnt checked that out

Considering you can buy a new GT coupe for about $20K, yeah.

The TypeR does out handle it a little. But its not that much faster laptimes because of the the straigh aways.. For an extra $4K-6K I think you could make it out handle the TypeR.
