well i switched today from CAI to short ram, and when i took the filter out i noticed that i got some oil in the filter. i knew the engine had some blow by but not to that extent. could it be from other causes like a malfunctioning PCV system ? or is blowby the only thing will put oil in the filter. the engine runs nice and hauls some ass when pressing on the gas, so i don't think it's only the blow by causing that. any ideas ?

yup i forgot about that, but the intake has no signs of oil on it, just the filter

Well, some filters are wet filters, which have a non petroleum oil in them. I wouldn't worry about it at all, the oil helps to filter out dirt better than without. If the filter is made by K&N, DO NOT get rid of that oil, since it is necessary for it to work properly.

I'm sure Stefan knows about regular filter oil being in there...
