Hey, i'm new here and so far i really like the forums. Anyways, I have a 99 honda accord EX and its a 4 door. It has a V-tec 4cyl and i havnt changed anything on it. Is it worth putting pro. parts in it or is it just a waste of time?
If you do think i should upgrade please tell me what i should look into. thanks

Welcome to HS:cool:
Are you talking about speed parts or suspension parts? Engine mods are worth it if you're not expecting big gains, just some noise and a little more power. If you want big gains, you'll have to do an engine swap or add a turbo.

Engine mods and suspension is what i want to up grade. if its at about 150hp now how much do you think engine mods will add?

Accordin - 55 hp (crank) from I/H/E and cam? On a SOHC engine that doesn't seem likely. Did you actually dyno it? Not trying to be an ass, just curious.
Anyway, with basic boltons, you can expect 10-12, maybe a little more hp to the wheels. Not bad for a little boost, but nothing crazy.

actually i could not believe it, but i watched one night high rev tuners on speed and they put a AEM CAI on a focus zx5. they got 7hp at the wheels (dyno before and after)

The hosts from that show are freaking stupid, but yeah, that's weird about the focus. Just depends on how restrictive the stock system was.

I don't think you're being ass, it's cool... no I haven't dyno'd it....yet....had to edit this because I don't want to seem like I'm talking out of my ass but basically I had the work done by a friend of mine and he told me that he dyno'd it after the install......I'm just going off of what he gave me....I'll see about getting it dyno'd when I get back to Mississippi next month then I'll post the actual test results.....
hey 94_Accord....I didn't want you to think I was bullshitting you so I've been looking for some info from the net for Gude (plus I'm bored)...this is all that I've been able to come up with but I'm still looking.......

Neh man, its totally cool. One thing's for sure... you have more power than me :D
I've just heard that Gude claims (like every other manufacturer) are a little on the high side. I'd be very interested to see your dyno though because there's not too much out there for our SOHC engines.
