Hey guys,
I plan on turbo'in my car soon. But there are a lot of kits out there and I know its a turbo, but which one is best for my car?
I plan on keeping my D16 for money purposes for now, but maybe dropping in a B16 if I can wait and save. Don't really want to rebuild my stock engine, but I want to run intercooled. Which kit should I go with? Greddy, Apexi, Rev Hard, Drag? Help!

the DRAG kits are badass, but the manifolds are known to crack. I'd only get one if I had lots of money to spend on building the motor. But if I were in your shoes, I'd go with the A'PEXi kit. Mmmmm, ball bearing turbo.
I'm running the GReddy kit, and it's alright, but the fuel management sucks. i hope to ditch the blue box soon, but money is too tight. well, it's really not, but I don't know how much more I want to invest in my car. I've already spent waaaaay too much on this little Civic. :o

customize it yourself if you have the patience. APEX offers more for its price. GReddy rocks as long as you are not picky about not having an FMIC for the time being. if you do get the GReddy, ensure to get the newly desgned FMIC......those FMIC's are badass!!!!!

how much work is involved with putting in the greddy 92-95 ex series into a 96-00 generation? I know that its possible but how much more work?

Not much. The only mods needed to be done are with the charge piping and with the FCU, obviously. The charge piping is slightly different on the 5G than it is on the 6G, and the FCU was meant to work with OBDI, not OBDII. The wiring scheme can be found on the Internet.

what would be a pre-turbo checklist? i.e. injectors, plugs, wires, fuel stuff, exhaust, gauges... that sorta stuff. Let me know cuz I want to do this properly. Thanks!

Well, I'm running 5 psi on my Civic, and it's working fine. I'll just give you a rundown of what I have besides the obvious:
NGK 2-step colder spark plugs
BOV
255 lph fuel pump
boost gauge
Type 31 FMIC
that's basically it besides the GReddy 15G turbo kit. I'm still running a 2.25" cat-back exhaust, and I can start spooling up at around 2500 in 2nd gear at WOT. A bigger exhaust would be nice but definitely not necessary for such a small turbo and a small amount of boost.

get the Greddy... you wont regret it...plus it's street legal. My buddy has a 96 or 97 gsr with the kit...he boosts around 8-9 lbs. Its a little laggy but once the boost hits your all good to go. Him and I raced on the freeway once (late night with virtually no cars around) and he started walking my ass at around 100mph or so....DAMN BIG TURBO's . He runs low 13's on street tires.
