Venom 400 Performance Control Module... Has anyone ever ridden in a car with one of these? My racing shop here says that the reviews online are from people who arent reading there manual, Venom will reporgram it to fit your car if it doesnt coorespond with your aftermarket parts. If anyone has any info on this besides what i can find on the net (lies i tell you) let me know. First hand experience would be preferable.

Thanks in avance :)
Jason

well... 99% of the time when you talk to people on the net about something, then a shop owner trying to tell you something.. we're gonna tell you strait out. they are gonna try and sell you something. how much is it costing you? getting your ecu chipped will probobly be better and cheaper

Its 400 installed.. not bad.. I dont think hes trying to sell me it just to get my cash, he gives me mad discounts, and hes told me not to buy certain things for my car because of the cost.. i think hes truly lookin out for me, but he says theyve had no problems.. i just wanted to see if anyone knows anything about it

You have an automatic right? That's where you'll notice a difference. It helps with the shift points. Don't plan on adding turbo, s/c or nitrous with it though. It advances your timing.

He said Venom will reprogram it? I've not heard that one before. Anyhow let us know what you think.

I had one in my car before going LS/VTEC Turbo. Here was my list of mods I had at the time.

Front Mount Intake
Header
B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator
AEM Underdrive Pulleys
2.25" Cat back
Venom 400
MSD Coil hooked to OE ignition

Went to the track, removed Power Steering belt, dropped tire pressure to 16 PSI and ran a 14.8 @ 92 MPH (2.12 60 ft) in my 1994 Integra RS. (no VTEC then)

Not a whole lot of mods, but I noticed +3 MPH over my best 1/8 mile MPH before I had the Venom, so I'd say it made a difference in the midrange, and a little on the tpo end.

Hope this helps.

My friends car has the venom 400. It is a civic dx with all the basic bolt-ons. He likes the unit except for the fact that he will have to get rid of it when he gets his turbo because the venom 400 will cause his engine to blow up/detonate (because it advances the spark).
