My hood latch took a dump and now when I get on the highway the hood catches air and threatens to pop open. This is not good. I figure hood pins would be something interesting that not everyone has. So...
How do you do it? Which brands are best?
Advance auto sells some APC ones, or should I buy something like Vracing from JCW? Or nothing at all and fix my latch?

i have sparcos. basicaly... unless you have a rivit gun, your not going to be able to do this yourself. you need to drill a hold in the top of your hood, the engine bay frame of your car and if you go through any hood support stuff, that too, but larger holes so you can fit the rivit gun in there. if your real interested i'll take pics of my hood tomorrow

so like a normal drill won't work even if I go slow and use oil? Maybe I'll have someone do it...or see if my friend has a rivet gun...do you do yours yourself or have someone do it for you?
actually, if you have time take a few quick pics if you have a digicam. just a close up of the top of youre hood, the underside of the hood, and the "latch point" in the engine bay frame. thanks dude.
I'm assuming that if its made of metal its all prolly the same quality give or take regardless of brand, right?

well.. i have a cf hood, and i didnt wana risk recking it.. i needed pins because my hood looked unstable above 60mph, so i had someone else do it. i can only go on what i see. i dont have a rivit gun, nor know how to use one on a hood the way they did... so i didnt mess with it

actually you can use bolts to hold the pins on. We did on my old car. No need for a rivit gun.
