I have a 98 Civic EX Coupe. What are the advantages of a b16b over a b18c1 engine? And vice versa? I'm thinking of doing a swap soon but I'm in that debating stage. If I swapped a b16b motor in my car, would I be able to use any/all of the regular bolt ons and apps that are for an EK Civic? I'm scared that if I got the b16b I wouldn't be able to mod it very much. If I can use the after-market parts for a Civic on a b16 would it fit perfectly?

B16B is not worth the money. $4300+ for a 1.6L engine. no thanks.
if you are swapping.....you have to buy parts that work for the new motor....thats a given. B series motors have parts sold all over the place so getting things wouldnt be a problem.
dont get the B16B unless all you want is an engine that gives you bragging rights. for a couple hundred more you could get a b18c5.
you want to do a swap soon? i dont recommend it just yet. you sound very new to the whole swap thing....just ask more questions and do searches online and learn more about the engines before you go swapping things.

for the b16b, or any j-spec motor, will it be hard to find parts for it in the US?
so for convinience, is it better to swap in usdm motors?

No usally usdm is way more exspensive than jdm....Parts are gonna be the same for most b series blocks...
I would recomend jdm all the way.....
Good luck
