ok, what exactly is a short throw shifter? It just makes quicker easier shifts right? Do i need an aftermarket clutch or anything to make it noticably better? I'm dumb..thx

Just reduces the length of the throw between gears. You're not dumb.

Technically the rod at the bottom of the ball (on civics anyway) is longer on a short throw shifter. This makes your throw shorter. You dont really need anything else to put one in, but I would suggest shifter bushing. They are nice.

Yeah, but on an Accord, they are just adapters that ultimately don't do too much. They change the position at which the shift cable mounts. This can also make the shifts a little notchy though.

I knew they cable shifters, but thats really about all I know about accord shortshifters.

Yeah, Accords and Preludes got the shaft when it comes to true short shifters. C's made one a long time ago, but this guy on HondaSociety is making a C's clone now. Nobody's tried it yet, but here's my thread on it:

So its pretty much pointless to get one for my car then right? Oh ya, i have a front strut bar on order now too :)

Why do you say it's pointless????
It reduces the shift throw....so if you like to shift fast, then it helps. No need to waste time shifting when you could already be in gear tearing ass.

Its not pointless... I have one. It just isn't "amazing" I'd recommend the B&M if you do get one. Do a search and you'll find lots of info.

yeah, prelude and accord shifters got the shaft ;( i have an adapter in mine, its pretty nice, but a C's is really the best way to go. if you can afford the one the guys selling.. get it. its a much better piece than any adapter.

I think he will. The 4G prelude shifter drops directly into a 5th gen accord. The prelude shifter is shorter and straighter, but shouldn't require too much modification on his part to make it work.
