Why do you buy a slow car and add expensive stuff to it and it is still slow when you can buy a car that is already halfway fast (14.7 or under) 300 zx Twin Turbo (in excellent condition) which is at least 2000 less than the 02 Civic EX. It is also faster and looks better even when you put turbo's on your civic and leave the 300 stock. Mustang's are even better example they can run 13.9's (02 GT)on street tires straight from the factory yet it takes a civic at least a good $10,000 to even get there.

I wouldnt drive a ford if you gave me the damn thing...

And why would i want to fit the trend that 45 year old balding men fit into.. buying fast sports cars.. EVERYTHING is a trend.. I know my car isnt fast, and wont be... so im buying what i think looks nice... that and i dont feel like paying 600 bucks a month in car insurance..

you make a good TOnitrusEN but i would rather drive a car that bald 45 year old men drive than a car that 45 year old balding women drive.
But if you set them up right they do look clean sometimes.

Thanks for reply

People like what they like. Not everyone likes domestics and the same goes for imports. You're obviously trying to stir things up a bit with your recent posts. That's not how things are done here.

Its more like constructing your own vehicle. I like work on my car. It gives me a sense of pride. Who cares if you like my car or can't see justification in working on it. Its not your ride.

As far as the 02 GTs go, I sure as hell hope they hit 13's. They are quick, but I've not seen a stock 02 GT hit that low. Low 14's, but not 13's. At least not on stock tires and completely stock car. But that car isn't even in the same league as Civics. Civics are meant to be econoboxes from the factory. Stangs are meant to be muscle cars.

so your sayin that if a Ford Focus Cosworth or a Ford Escort Cosworth or even the WRC Ford Focus was handed to you, that you wouldn't drive it?....cuz i would........

those are pretty much the only Fords i'll be driving.....

Hmm, lets see.. In the perfect world I would own a 03 Cobra, but since this isnt the perfect world Im stuck with what I have. Id love to have a TT 300Z. Ive looked into buying them, but I cant see spending $10K on a RWD car with over a 100K miles that I wouldnt want to or be able to drive year round because of the snow. The same goes with a Supra. All these cars would be great but for most people they just are suitable for what a lot of people need them to do.

Plus you get into insurance and fuel comsumption. I drive my car daily 40+ miles. Im getting about 30-35 mpg in my EX, which means I only have to fill up about every week and a half to two weeks. Plus it only cost about 12$ to fill up, and insurance is ass cheap.

Civics arent meant to be hardcore race cars right out of the box. But they are cheap, and do have a little bit of potential. Granted it will probably cost you more in the long run to have a 12 second car, but thats the persons problem who is spending the money not yours. If you dont like civics. Good dont drive one. If you do then do.

I could probably go on and on, but I dont feel like wasting anymore time on this. Hopefully you are intelligent enough to see where people are coming from whether you like it or not.

In your opinion, it looks better. Many other people may not agree with you. I like the way my civic looks. It is as stock as it can be. I'm not all about making it a race car. It goes fast enough as it is. I'm not concerned with running low 13-14's. I am concerned with the 35 mpg i get.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

And no, i wouldnt drive any of those cars... why? Because the ford escort looks like soemone smashed up a crappy car into a compact thing and the focus looks like crap... why do i need to go so fast? Ive damn near been arrested for street racing (long story, but i wasnt even racing) and i already pay 220 bucks for insurance (CLEAN DRIVING RECORD).. I want my car to look good.. maybe when i turn 25 and my insurance is as low as can be ill look into buying a nicer, faster car... but for right now my HB is fine.. and i probably wont ever sell it.. as for these cars

I would get more pride out of getting a car to the 13's with hard work than with money... You can buy anything with money, but isn't it better to do it yourself?

hodas are more reliable than most other cars unless you go to spend $$$. and the way i see it when we're young, and insurance is high, we need cars that arnt gonna rape us on insurance and will hold together. when i get a little older and get a job, maybe i'll still have a honda as a every day, but i will get a weekend car that will be fast, not daily driven, not good on gas, and high on insurance. right now i have to settle for a preldue that does mid-14's with bolt ons. i deffinitaly see what your saying, buy a faster car. hondas have potential, but cost alot more. i know supras, rx7's camaros, mustangs, 300zx's and all the higher hp rwd sports cars are faster, with more potential, but i cant realisticaly afford one right now.

We eat what we like.

There are so many things that go into why someone buys a car. Style, initial cost, TOC, durability, performance, individual needs/wants, etc. I like my car for a variety of reasons, I don't like many cars for a variety of reasons.....

I'm not too partial to Fords, but a GT40 or GT90 would do me just fine.....if I could afford them. I wouldn't buy one, but I'd drive it if given to me.

theres two schools of thought thought
1- if you own a nice car and drive alot why wouldnt' you drive it everywhere
2- nice cars only need a bit of driving so they stay nice

i'm of catagory 2 my car doesn't have many miles on it

wow, where the turbos rebuilt or replaced any time recently? cause the turbos are only good for about 80-90k so at 100k at least shows the car was probobly taken care of. sounds like he has a nice car... whys he selling it?

just to add another opinion: i dont care so much about how my car looks, as long as its simple and not messy. my goal is speed. the reasons i drive an accord rather than a mustang or something else are: i love the fact that no one expects an accord to be fast and if i make one fast, ive really accomplished something. also insurance for a v8 is so much more than for my accord. and although it is not a major concern of mine, it is nice that my car gets about 28 miles/gallon.
yes, a lot of import dudes put money into their weak engines and get nothing out of it. as you should know by now not all of us are like this and i can't understand the reasoning behind why people do this either.
my accord, after the h22 swap and turbo (glee) and of course i/h/e will easily be 300hp at the crank. i dont know if you think all people who have an interest in imports are the same, but trust me we're not. so dont group us together. let them do their thing and we'll do ours.
