Comin back from a BBQ at my brothers last weekend, and i was headed up hill, and a Jetta with 4 kids in it that i wanted to smack just because of the way they were dressed flies by.. i downshift and catch up, i get to the top of this hill and he guns it.. i floored it and were FLYING down the other side of this hill... i started to pull on him and as we hit the bottom where the hill flattens out i was doing 117.. i flew through a yellow light, and slowed down, stopped at the next light and he pulled up next to me... and looks at me like I'm the asshole, just because i was about 2 car lengths ahead of him..

This sparked my interest. So he had 4 people in the car and you only pulled 2 cars? You should have pulled more than that. What engine was in the jetta? The 1.8, 1.8T, or VR6? I have raced my friends normal 1.8 jetta in my highlander and have destroyed him by 15+ car lengths up to 100.

Heh...Definetly a bad idea. When my friend and me raced a '95 Mitsu 3000 GT over a hill there was a cop writing up an accident report. Thank god the two cars in the accident and the cop had got WAY over off the road

I doubt it was a 1.8T cause he probably would have smoked you.
Was it a newer Jetta or an older one? Just wondering.
Nice kills, lucky you didnt get more then one.

1.8? I believe VW's engine sizes are as follows..
2.0 4cyl
1.8T turbo 4 cyl
2.8 V6
2.9 VR6
then there is the W8, but that's a luxury car.
I don't believe VW makes the 1.8 n/a four anymore. The stopped making those around 90-91. I am a VW enthusiast also, with a 1988 Jetta that has a ton of mods.

The W8 coming in the new passat. It looks pretty sweet. But yes, I believe your right about the 1.8.

Ya real smart.. what if the light turned red a few secs sooner.. some poor family coulda been driving cross the intersection.. ! You both coulda hit something... two ricers racing nailed a cop out here in Vancouver a week ago running a red... the guy (cop) is dead now. If its a light its probably a 30-45 mph zone.. your bloody tripling a speedlimit  and your going downhill too!
BTW 4 pple going dowhill in a car is barely any plus at all -if your coasting- and once your accellerating faster than gravitys pulling you, your cars doing more work. *drops a physics textbook*
I hope you're happy you "won the race"...
