loose belt...

Whenever i accelerate in 1st and 2nd i hear a loose belt, but it goes away when i let off the gas, or shift into 3rd. Anybody know what belt it would be, and if its a problem? thanks

If you have a loose belt you ought to be able to determine that by looking at the belt and checking the tension. Belts on the Hondas are pretty tight, it should yield slightly to pressure in the center of the belt, maybe 1/4" under reasonable pressure. Check the belts as best you can for cracks and other signs of wear.

I've never heard of a belt that only squeals in 1st and 2nd gear....but I'm at a loss for any other ideas of what it may be.
