View Full Version : How do i remove the head unit on a 1998 Civic????

Please help me, i am getting a new head unit (probably the Pioneer DEH 1400B, or whatever) and please help me, cos i have no clue how to remove, or even get the old head unit out!!!!!!
Does anybody know, im sure one of you have done it. It's on a 1998 Civic to remove the stock head unit!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

its really long to explain..
I'll just give you a basic idea, and you should be ok..
looks at what is holding your radio, then look at what is holding that piece, and then look at the piece that is holding that piece..
and start removing from the last piece..
Hope you were able to catch any of what i just said...
If i recall well, you'll have to remove all the under dash pannels (2-3). and then you'll need to remove the dash console thingy (with heating/cooling/fan, radio.. the piece with the black trim around it..
and then get the radio out of there.
Before pulling too hard on a part that doesnt want to come out, make usre it isnt screw in (thus held by clips)
