well you got the basics I/H/E, have you considered a little nitrous or maybe a turbo? There's other things you could do but it starts getting real expensive for small gains. Have you done any suspension stuff? turning quick is pretty fun.

yeah, if you go all out. well i guess it depends on what you define as expensive. he could get some good springs and struts for less than $600 which will help out alot with the handling. or go all out and spend 1500$ on a setup.

oh i lowered my car using the sprint spring by 2.5 inches and got camber, f/r strut tower bars, and rims as well.

you have a 4 door lx do what anyone would do if they wanted a fast car.
SELL YOUR SLOW ONE. (just kidding)
Just FYI i've seen dyno charts that show a 5hp loss when using a pacesetter header.
You know what.... I actually just re-read your post and if your serious about wanting to go fast. then
SERIOUSLY SELL YOUR CAR
1. its a 4door (more weight less rigidity)
2. it's a lx (1.5 non vtec right?)
3. AT (i don't have to put anything here do I?)
so if your serious about making THAT car fast then:
1. Swap the motor and tranny out
2. DON'T BUY ANY PACESETTER PARTS
3. ??? Weld the rear doors shut and fill the seems?

You're right his car is slow, stock. He coudl make it faster with a turbo, motor swap or nitrous. AT... AT is not a bad thing. Its great at the track & driving around town. Manual is nice to have for the auto-x & lil bit of extra control.
If you've ever been to a 1/4 mile track you know alot of the cars run automatic trannys. There's less room for error. Times are very consistant.
