Next summer (if everything goes right) i am planning on swapping my engine and tranny. But im not sure where to start. Im not sure what engine im looking for right now so i need some suggestions. I have a 96 civic coupe. I want soemthing better than a normal vtec engine. I am willing to spend around 5000 and if needed i will go over that (however that is probably including installation). At first i thought H22 but after this summer in St Louis im not sure i can deal with the loss of A/C.

What does everyone suggest? And will any more major modifications be required to have the engine/tranny put in.

Where is the best place to do alot of reading up on this topic?

Im really knew on this topic so bear with me. Thnx for the input.

Any other suggestions are helpful.

i think a direct fit will be the b16 engine, but i would go for the h22. i'm sure you can swap parts around to get the AC moving. and the custom piping can be done as long as you don't tell the shop what the pipes are for :D just tell them the shapes and dimensions and will do it for you.

They can get you the engine mount kit you'll need which will include a mount for your AC(civic one) so you can stay nice and cool.
Here's another good site that should shed some light on the subject of the H22 swap. http://www.h22hybrid.20m.com/index.html

$5,000 should be enough for this swap maybe with a little left over.
