as you all know i ride my bike ALOT. well typical riding tradition would see me with shaved legs but i've never gone that root. now that i'm gonna be taking up tri-atholons i've been told i have to shave my legs so i swim/ride fast (aparently it makes a difference).

What are your views on this?

if you were a girl and a guy with shaved legs was hitting on you what would you think about him?

A hairy svimmer is a slow svimmer!:D '

It makes drying off easier too..;)

I can speak from experience on this one. I used to work at an outdoor centre in the Canadian Rockies. All the staff were into all sorts of sports including road racing (push bikes) and mountainbiking, aswell as swimming etc. Shaved legs became a kind of "in thing" there and by the SUmmer almost all the guys had better looking legs than the ladies ;)

I got to say it feels like you are in bed with someone else, looks great and feels really od dwhen wearing fleece long-johns.

Go for it, Its not somthing other people tend to notice much, especially if you have fair hair.

well i'm thinking about it, just it seems like alot of work... every few days i have to shave my legs. YIKES. Most of the people who race that come around the shop have shaved legs.

Maybe i should wait till next season. But i'll hold judgement until a girl comments on this one.

well, just shave on the days of competition, use the hair as a training thing.. you know, more resistance, better workout. then on race day, shave em and hope they grow back fast. and wear pants durring the bald period.

A couple buddies of mine used to do competition swimming back in high school. They'd shave everything the suit didn't cover. They were also quite popular with the ladies.

I know a couple guys who shave their chests regularly, chicks dig it on them......don't see why legs are so different.

I'd do it for the competition if you think you stand a chance. Why put yourself at a disadvantage when you don't have to?

Most ladies dig a smooth man, period.

With exception of some of the more ruggish outdoors type ladies. You know, the ones that dont shave them selves.. ;) :D

Yeah chicks do like shaved guys for some reason. I don't get how guys can do it though. It grows back so damn quick and feels all fugged up (talking about chest hair though). Then there's NAIR. That shit burns like a mofo. And don't even think about NADS. My girl tried that stuff on a patch of hair on my neck once. HOLY SHIT that hurts.

And chicks that don't shave:pukey . They have to shave their legs & pits at least.

Even though I don't think its cool that some guys just shave their legs for fun, you'd be doing it for a shot at winning a triathalon  Well worth it in my opinion. Like 4thgenlude said, what about just shaving before competitions?

Some guys are into that who jungle bush thing. Personally I'd rather not have to pack a machete when I go see my girlfriend.

When I used to work at a gym, there were a lot of guys with shaved legs and I think that it's ok. But there were some guys that shaved their armpits. That for some reason is a turnoff. Yeah, girls should shave. It's just the hygenic thing to do.

Both of my brothers shave their legs. Actually one of them only trims it. But my other brother shaves his pits and legs. Alot of guy do that where I'm from. I guess they like the clean look...

Yeah, my brother doesn't actually shave his legs and armpits but he does trim them. He lifts weights so I can understand him doing it for the defintion on his legs but why guys shave their armpits is still a mystery. I guess I can understand the hygenic reasoning behind it. It still looks really weird though when a dude lifts his arms and his armpits are as hairless as mine.

i run a lot and i used to trim my armpits. u use an electric rasor for that, so it's basically like shaving. after the 12 miles a night i don't smell like a garbage dump. and it feels more comfy too.

OK here goes.. the Doctor has been out but I am back now..
My first client is Rob:
#1- Hairy men are nasty.. if a girl wants a hairy guy she can get herself a gorilla
#2- Your voice is deep and masculine enough so you dont have to worry there.
#3- It will help with your time for biking (if this is a timed event and it matters a lot to you)
#4- Its just hair.. it will grow back
#5- Don't shave it, wax it and then you can see what us girls go through.

Now my terms are pay-per-session
So have your check ready ;)

I shave everything from the waist down. Also shave chest and face of course. I started doing it when I played soccer and was tired of it taking me an hour to remove tape from my ankles. I now just think it looks better. (my girl likes it)...

WAX IT! WAX IT! WAX IT! Guys should really have an idea as to what we all have to go through. Try keeping your nails clean after working on your car. I tried to wear rubber gloves once when I was changing my oil and it was a bad scene. You know that little screw in plug thing (I don't know the actual term) that comes out of the bottom of your oil pan when you drain your oil? I dropped that into this huge oil disposal container that we have at the garage and I had to wait for all of the oil to cool down and then I practically had to put my whole arm in there to find it.

Note to self...Drain plug. Thanks. I do that a lot with certain car parts and tools. There's a lot of them and sometimes I can't remember so I try to describe them to the best of my abilities. Wanna see a funny one ? (_|_) < a little ass. :)

No Rob I am not kidding.. if your legs are too much to handle the first time, instead of shaving wax it!! LOL Take Rob (toykilla's) advice and while u shave your legs trim up the other area below your waist.. much nicer!

or if you don't want to shave or wax a blow torch will do the job. ;)

We call it a Sump Plug this side of the pond. and dirty/used oil is refered to as Sump Oil.

Epil Stop-N-Spray, oooohhh yeah... just kidding... dont know if this stuff actually works or not, but its all I can think of that would effectively remove the hair from the tender tidbits down there without intense pain from wax or the ever present fear of knicking with a razor. Does anyone know if this stuff works, I would like to know just cause I am a curious individual.

Hmmm. That's interesting. I'm going to start calling it that from now on. I'll probably remember it better.

***DO NOT USE EPIL STOP!!! One of my friends used it. Not only did it take the hair off, it also took some of her skin off.***

I agree with feelmyride, body hair is nasty. I shave my chest a couple times a week. have used Epil stop, and it works better then shaving, but doesn't last as long, and I don't get razor burn from it. I have waxed my chest. It works the best and lasts the longest.
Try nair....I haven't heard anything from anyone that has used it though.
by the way...waxing isn't that painful.

Ever get your bikini line waxed. I'm sorry, but that is quite painful. I can tolerate my legs & eyebrows.

Uh...I didn't really think you waxed anywhere else. But regardless of what you wax, shave, epil stop...etc. Guys don't have to do it. And if they do, they don't have to do it as often as girls. I don't know. I just think it's all a pain in the ass.
