Well, in my haste to try to adapt some of the code for the modifications submissions, it looks as though I had a few errors.. go figure..

I think I have all the quirks fixed now. Should be no problem to upload gif or jpeg images, and all seems to be fixed with modifying your listing. Sorry about any inconvenience with this.

I would really like to urge everyone to try to scale down pictures as necessary - once a photo gets wider than 420-460 pixels wide, it makes viewing a little more difficult... If you need help in scaling down your photos, perhaps try posting in the Photo Exchange portion of the boards to see if someone would offer their assistance as needed. If you truly strike out after trying all other options, send an email my way and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

Enjoy!

Okay.
I lied.
Actually, that's not true...

Here's the deal. I took down the modifications submissions for now. Reason being, is because I am trying to find a better way to organize your photo uploads. (into your own directories).

Be patient with me...this is all part of Beta testing.

Well, I may regret saying this...but I'll give it a shot.

I think I finally fixed the modifications submission. (really!)
Here's the logistics of how it works:

1. In the Featured Car area, you submit your car (including text and photos).
2. Your info is written to the database and the photos are copied into your own directory on the server.
3. Regardless of your photo names when you upload them, they are now given a default of Photo1, Photo2 etc. (this prevents a user from uploading a gazillion photos and using unecessary server space).
4. You can now return to the Featured Cars section and modify your listing at any time. At this screen you will see the status of your modified car listing (i.e. pending, approved etc). Once your car is approved, it will be included in the user searchable database. If your car is a 'spotlight car' that will include it on the front page and in the Featured Car area. After this time it will be filed in the 'archives'. Cars will normally not be approved until photos are included. If you wait a few months and then finally add photos, you may want to send me an email to take a look.

That's about it. I had to do some fiddling with some photos to create existing directories and copy them there. If you've submitted your car, you may want to double check to make sure your photos are viewing properly etc. You may need to upload them again.

That's it.

Give her a whirl and let me know if you have any problems or questions.

:)

Thanks for offering to help. The explanation sounds good and the problem should be taken care of.
