Im not spending my cash on rims i was so close to buying Tenzo R Mean 6 17s o they were so F***ing nice but i didn't because the total came to 1182.00 with good low profile tires but i thought why wast money on rims when thats just a 1000 more for my GSR?

I got 17s in MR7s a few weeks ago. It drives nice but the first time i had alot of weight in my backseat and made a sharp turn they scraped something.

I wouldnt go any bigger then a 17 on a civic unless its for pure show or you have some serious engine mods done. The best wheels for performance are 15s and 16s. I personally prefer the 15s and 16s for performance reasons. But thats just me.;)

17's max. 18's are good for show, not driving.

Like Racing Rice said, 15's & 16's are the best for our torqueless wonders.....;)

Don't those weigh your car down terribly?

The 17's are 5-6lbs more than stock on each wheel.. the 15-16's are about equal to stock weight wise..

Oh yeah- do you tires ever rub the wheel well when you turn? are you lowered? just curious

thx

i have my car lowered about 2" front 1 3/4 back and it doesnt rub.. it used to rub in the front but i removed the splash guards and rolled the fenders in.. now i can go crazy low in the front and back.. but its low enough now so ill stay there

teach me how to remove the splash guards and roll the fenders. I wanna lower mine about 1.75. My car is not for pure show but I do want it to look sweet.

its simple to remove the splash guard.

you have to do it one at a time.. start by removing the driver side wheel.. the black splash guard is held in by 4-5 plastic screws. 3 in the wheel well.. 2 under the car where the splash guard ends are.

once thats gone.. put the wheel back on and you can start to roll your fenders using a (wooden) baseball bat (i wrapped mine in a towel so i dont crack the paint)

heres some instructions that i used to do it..

as for the tires they are Nitto 215/35 ZR/18

Just one warning.. Dont remove your fender lining if you have a CAI.. Unless you live somewhere where it never rains.. If you do, you can just about kiss your motor good bye.:paranoid:
