I need some help on a 4th gen accord (90 coupe LX). I'm debating between springs and coilovers. Which is easier to install and which is better in the long run? Also I want to know how far can I drop my car. I want to get 17" wheels with a 40mm offset wrapped in 215/40/17's. I want to know how far I can drop the car without having a camber kit and without having the fender rub. Also, are 215's too wide? Will they be directly under the fender or will they still be slightly tucked under? Any help would be great...thanks

i would stay away from coilovers. as for the drop you can go up to 1.8" without a camber kit, but usually they require one after 1.5". it all depends on the chassis of the car. rims with the tires that you want i don't think you will have the wheel tucked under the fender, unless you get a 2" or more drop.

why do you suggest staying away from coilovers? I was thinking of getting them only because of the adjustability.

were you talking real coilovers or just coilover sleeves ?

what's the difference? I'm talking about like $200 coilovers not the $1000 kits. So I'm assuming just the sleeves.

yeah just the sleeves. the sleeves will make the ride stiff as hell. i got the kyb agx shocks with the eibach prokits and my car was lowered 1.5-16" and it rides and handles beautifully, plus my camber is .5 degrees after lowering

Why will i have problems with the seasons? I thought it might be an advantage to raise the car during winter and drop it during the summer. What type of problems will I have?

you will have the coilover stuck in the winter time. the thread will get rusty and become a biatch to lower and raise it. i have pro-kits with kyb agx and the ride is super smooth, plus the car got a nice look, ands the wheel is right in the center of the wheel well. it looks quite nice. maybe it's time to get some pics
