Most of you know my car was in the shop (dealer) getting a new short black & stuff from a hydrolock incident. Well guees what didn't come back with my car? All 80+ of my CDs!!!!!

Well I called them Saturday after I noticed it late Friday night. Spoke to one of their service writers. I explained that i ALWAYS have them under the passenger's seat. I never take them out. He said "the tech didn't say anything about it". Of course not. The he follows with this "well the tech is on vacation for a week and I can't get a hold of him". Huh? Come again? "So if you don't hear from me within a week, call me back". What in the hell!

I e-mailed my insurance agent to thank her for her help with all this and I mentioned the fact that all my CDs were missing. I don't know that she'll be able to do anything but at least she'll know.

What a bunch of crap. If its not one thing its another!!!!!

Yeah its pretty bad that it wasn't even outside. So they can't blame it on that BS.

Well I'm getting ready to type up a letter and mail it certified with return receipt to the Service Manager. This waiting aweek shit is BS. I mean that's $1200 worth of CDs! Some of which I can't replace.......

Ouch, that blows. I had my CDs stolen a couple years ago in a break-in. Now I keep burned copies in my car and the originals at home, so I can make new copies if I need to.

All my cds are burnt so even if something happens, they can be restored with a lot of work though.

I jsut sent a letter certified mail with return receipt. It will be there tomorrow and someone has to sign for it and I'll get notice when they do. Here's what the letter said.

Mike Boone
Service Director
3013 Mall Park Dr
Dayton, Ohio 45459-3672

Dear Mr. Boone:
I recently had my 2000 Honda Civic Si in your shop for repair. I received the car back on Wednesday, July 3rd. Upon receiving it back, I noticed that my CD wallet was missing along with approximately 80 CDs that were inside it.
I called the shop on Saturday, July 6th and spoke to Brian. I asked him if they had a CD wallet lying around and explained that it kept in my car under the passenger’s side seat. They would have had to remove the CD wallet to pull all the carpet out. So I figured it might be lying around the shop. He said that the tech didn’t mention anything about it and the tech was out on vacation for a week. He said he would look for them and that if I didn’t hear from him within a week to call back.
I don’t feel that this is the proper way to handle this matter. I should not have to wait a week for this to be resolved. If the CDs are lost or have been stolen, they need to be replaced. I put a certain amount of trust in your shop to take care of my vehicle. I shouldn’t have to worry about items being stolen or lost while in your shop.
You can reach me at 937-974-929(cell) or 937-439-0113(home). Please leave message at either if I do not answer.

Sincerely,
Justin Doles

Damn man, that really sucks. Good luck getting your CDs back, but if the service people really are dishonest, there isn't a lot of hope.

Nah. I'll get them back one way or another. They can either replace them or give me the value of each CD. If each of these ideas fail, I will gradually remove digits from each person's limbs. Simple, but effective. Eventually they'll do something or at least I'll feel better about the whole thing.....

Hehe, I like that. Well, you seem determined, so I'm sure you'll get something back...

I've never had anything of that value stolen out of my Honda, but a service guy did jack a new maglite that I had in my car. I had used it in my car just before I took it in... and I put it back in my glovebox. I get the car back and *magic* no more maglite

most of the time when you bring your car into a shop on the recipt you get that you sign, it says they are not repsonsible for anything missing from the car.

They called the tech on his cell to figure out where he put them. The only reason the Service Mgr. called me was because he got my letter.
